I too had someone turn the car on but they were not careful when taking the car cover off. , you have to take off corner by corner and then lift off the car...
Oh. Thanks for that advice. I'll be sure to make my dad aware of that. Even though I have Ti Gray, which doesn't show scratches as much, like you said, they are still visible to me . I work on my car a lot under halogen lights, even wash it under them since I can see everything and make sure all the dirt is gone before I wipe it dry. I use Optimum No Rinse to wash it, and that has been the reason why my new Autoexe front bumper is still flawless under them. I am extremely careful though.

^Im glad you baby your car- and take care of it. I wish people would respect my car. You see I have a lot of Haters in my Town that know me.... my ex keyed my car somewhat but they are not deep and can be resprayed.....however i dont know who it was but they not only keyed my car but made sure to push in the key and its like a key mark/ dent and will need to be filled. I also have a couple of rock chips on the front but nothing that isnt normal.... No other dents *knock on wood*

Thanks. I appreciate that. I really try. Can't stand seeing people trash cars. I get on my parents about that kind of stuff with their cars ever since I got into detailing with the 8, not to mention the Volks I paid for myself, as well as my bumper. I appreciate them much more, and want everything to be cared for the right way, since I learned exactly how from Autopia. I am amazed how clean my 8 looks now, compared to when I first got it, and even then it wasn't bad at all!

Oh. And hopefully you get your little dents and such fixed. I have a few on mine, very slight, and with how glossy I have gotten mine through polishing and sealing, I don't really notice them anymore. BTW, they came with the car, I didn't cause any of them. I park far away from curbs, cause hitting one would cost more than a little ticket, even though I wouldn't get one. Plus, if I'm far away, I can see it, and no one parks near me

Have any recommendations for a car cover that aren't too expensive? Since I'm a college student, I can't spend a ton, but will pay enough for one that protects my car from any damage being caused.

Yeah. First month I got my car with my old wheels, I accidentally parked too close and curbed the rim with like a 2 in. rash on black chrome. Almost impossible to fill, but I made it a little less noticeable. Since my car had some noticeable defects before I got the Volks and a new front bumper, I couldn't stand having people admire my car from far away, to then point out the problems up close. That's what got me into detailing. And my Volks, as well as the new bumper look almost new. I entered my 8 in my highschool car show all 3 years I had it, and every year, the compliments got even better! This last year, my Senior year, I put the new bumper on the night before the show, and everyone could not believe how good my car looked, as well as the wheels since I didn't have them the year before.

My front bumper which I have had on since May, is still free of chips I have already put on about 7 coats of Klasse Sealant Glaze, and nothing sticks! I even went to an Auto-X a month ago with it, which I was a little nervous about, since I was afraid of chips, especially since there were rocks all over, but in the end it was still flawless!

Yeah my cuz's S2k, he knows all about taking care of high end wheels, he rather get a $60 parking ticket instead of curbing his wheels ......WORKS VS

^^ Yeah. I definitely agree. My friends kinda laugh at me for parking so far away, but hey I have never hit a curb with them, so I could care less. I would rather get a ticket though because it's just a fine, not points on your license, and is a lot cheaper than a $600 repair, or a new wheel. That S2K looks clean!

I actually did scrape the side of a curb in a drive thru once, since they coned it partly off, and it was hard to maneuver around. Thankfully since a friend of mine persuaded me to get RE-01R's since they are like the best ones you can (could since they were replaced by the RE-11's) get for handling. They have steel reinforced sidewalls, so when I hit the curb, no damage was done, just slightly scuffed the tire at like 5mph, now it is impossible to tell at any angle. I believe that the dealer curbed my front driver side wheel when I was getting my reman done. My car was there for a month and they said it got hella dirty, so they said they couldn't give it back to me that dirty. I even told them not to clean it When I got it, I meticulously looked it over, but the wheels were still dripping so I couldn't see the .5" rash in the very corner of the lip. Only I notice it, even though it is so small and I really have to look, but to me, it's still there

Best way to store a car for a couple of months?

Two words: Vacuum packed.

It keeps the freshness in.

BTW handling is ridiculous with the decreased weight since Volks are forged to make them light. That's why I spent the money, I wanted the bling + performance, which is what I got, and couldn't be happier! I get compliments on them all the time.

Im not gonna lie and people may hate because I have 20"'s but they are forged also and the reason why they only weigh +2 lbs from theirs...., You really do have a clean TiG

2 piece. Thing is... once you leave the dealer, they aren't liable for damage. With my old bumper, they scraped the side pretty noticeably on the side, but since they parked it in the shade, I couldn't tell. When I got to the mall, I noticed, went back and said they did it, but said it wasn't possible. Even though I'm friendly with my service manager. I had my old wheels then as well. After that though, every time I went, I had him do a walk around before and after to make sure nothing ever happened again. I don't go to the dealer anymore since my warranty is up. Not more worries. lol.

Thanks. I really appreciate that. My old wheels were 20"s which came with the car, and I got mixed feedback about them. I knew getting these, I would never get a single negative comment, nor would I regret the weight savings from it! My old wheels weighed 32lbs, and my new ones weigh around 25lbs, so the moment I drove away after they were installed, I couldn't believe how much smoother the car accelerated, and how much faster and lighter it felt!

Yeah. I agree. I am so paranoid, that whenever someone goes near my car, I go and look around it. Lol. Better safe than sorry though.
