You are in college with good grades and sound like a very responsible individual. You deserve a LOT of credit in this day and age with all the crap young people are into. You are on the higher road and taking it seriously so you deserve a pat on the back and a car you can be proud of. If you get the 8, you will likely take good care of it and we hope, drive responsibly. Remind your parents that you have worked very hard to get your education for many years and this has earned you bonus points. Tell them this forum is full of younger drivers with 8's and it is a caring community of individuals who want to help others. You have tons of support here.

Good luck.

Dude...I love my 8 and I got it as soon as I graduated from college in '03. I paid (am paying) for this car all by myself...no help from the family. This is the first "real" car that I've had. I'll spare you the details but from an '83 Olds to '89 Omni to '89 Caprice. None of these are real barn burners but they were all paid for by the parents. I love/respect my car and it is because I have the money invested...not my parents.

BTW...If I was lucky enough to have an Audi A3 as my first car, you better believe that I would shut up and thank my parents everyday for being that awesome. You've gotta look at the situation man. An Audi A3...is it turbo and AWD? Even if it isn't, its a nice f'n car. I understand that the 8 is much cooler, but how could you beat an A3 in college.

IMO...you should pay for your dreamcar by yourself! It is the only way that you will fully appreciate the car. If you doubt me, just look at how you are already viewing your (parents) Audi.

Cheers,
DOOD
