Just wanted to say hello and thank everyone for helping me decide to get an RX-8!! Especially the "little things" thread... that's what really did it :-).

I picked her up yesterday:
'06 GT with all options except nav
sunlight silver mica
brand new Proxes 4
43,000 Km
I have included the only pic I took so far when I test drove it (taken on my BB so it's pretty bad, sorry for that).

I am in Ottawa, and we just got a dump of snow yesterday - so I haven't been able to drive it other than the test drive a few days ago... and it's killing me. I spent about two hours just sitting in it yesterday reading the OM and getting familiar with the car.

EDIT: really great info in the mods under $100 thread - all I have to do now is wait for the temperature to rise from -15C so I can get started.

 

I just bought a 2005 Shinka RX8, 54,000 miles. Superb condition. I love it! We were looking for a cheaper luxury/family sedan....but one look and drive and it was mine Any advice to a newbie??

Well well... I had some time to do a proper forum search using google tonight, and remembered Kaiser mentioning a "silver curse". I looked it up.

lol - looks like I picked a car that somehow attracts accidents caused by others! There seem to be a few theories out there, some try to explain it scientifically, others point to witchcraft or voodoo...

Either way, that's kinda weird - but I won't let this keep me up at night.
