MI Hello all, new guy here

Hey guys,

My names Kyle and Im looking to pick up a 2006 RX-8 here soon in the next couple days. Found a 2006 at a small dealership here with 30k miles. At the same time I am also trying to sell my previous vehicle, a 1995 BMW 840ci with 152k on the clock. Ive had a lot of good and bad times with that car, pretty glad its all gonna end here soon. Ive been interested in the RX-8 ever since it first came out back in 04'. Anyways I went and test drove the above mentioned RX-8 this morning, its a black on black/tan leather interior. GT package and manual transmission and keyless entry/start, sunroof and heated seats. Going back on monday to hopefully pick it up. As this will be my DD it will also see the winter so any additional advice in that arena will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys, ill update when I get it

For winter most people recommend getting a 2nd set of cheap rims + winter tires or picking up a cheap 2nd car.

Not to hijack this thread, but I'm also new. Names Brad, figured I would jump in on this one rather than make a new thread. Hope to learn a lot, and contribute as much as a lot of people on here have.

How much does a spare set of rims usually run? I know winter tires can get pricey

people sell them regularly...if you dont care about looks you can pick them up very cheap 600-1000....or you can upgrade your rims and use OEM as winter wheels lol

Kyle, if you don't mind can you let me know how much you are paying for that car. Because I have found a 2007 RX8 GT with 20K miles on it and am not sure how much I should start bargaining it at and what is a good price for the car.

You can get a set of first-rate winter tires with wheels for $1000, maybe a little more. Check out the 17 inch winter tire/wheel packages at Tire Rack. Really good place to research what you need.

Thanks for the input guys, the car is listed at $15,500 im going to try and go lower but thats already some 2k below kbb. just need to figure some loan **** out first then shes mine, anticipation is killing me. But i do remember from a previous advice thread, this is not a car to max out expenses on..so I need to see if I can make it work
