Have you ever had your wheels stolen?
A neighbor of mine across the street just had the wheels from his suburban stolen and its happening a bit in my area. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this, especially with OEM wheels.
Does anyone know of anything to avoid this?

hasn't happened to me but I've seen it happen to members here.
Tough to avoid really, best you can do is to make it tougher for them to steal.
if you've got OEM wheel locks, upgrde to something like bull dog locks.
also, upgrade the Alarm Shock sensor that way if they jack up the car, the alarm will go off and hopefully deter the thieves
if you've got high end aftermarket wheels; do NOT park the car outside.

the OEM alarm won't go off by jacking up the car. you need the upgraded shock sensor: http://www.finishlineperformance.com...cat=267&page=1

Have Black RPF1s and had stock rims, neither stolen nor messed with. O and you should get the poll edited; has two of the same options, but I think the last one was intended to be "Not stolen, not OEM".

Mine were almost stolen and they are OEM. They must have changed their minds halfway or were disrupted because the next day after visiting some coworkers, I noticed the locks on the passenger side were gone along with a few lugs.

yep, back in 93 in okinawa japan. i was in the 11th grade heading out to school, when i found my bike laying on the ground . but good thing is they didnt drop the bike, so no damage. i was very surpised they didnt take my aftermarket exhaust, guess they didnt have the time lol.
also in the 12th grade, i had my watanabe's and hayashis stolen off of my fc .

It's very easy to steal wheels even if you have a lock on it.
Let me teach you how.
Step 1: Remove all the lugs besides the lock.
Step 2: Get a whole bunch of towels, cover up the very edge of the rim.
Step 3: Get a sledge hammer, hit where the tire is on the same side as the lock is at so that the stud can break. Make sure not to hit the rim, that's what the towels are for, to protect the rim.
Step 4: ?????????????
Step 5: PROFIT!!!!!!
That's why I don't even bother with locks anymore.

I know some of you guys are saying not to park your car outside, but I have some advice contrary to that. When parking outside, park on the busiest road possible. If you're parked on a quiet street or in a dimly lit area without must pedestrian traffic or car traffic you are sheltering thieves when they steal your stuff.
Also FYI Gorilla sells something called the Original System. It basically replaces all your lug nuts with locks. If you were a thief it would be very annoying, take more time, and make a lot of noise when trying to hammer sockets onto these. No doubt you'd also wreak a few sockets removing 20 of these things to get a set of wheels.
Secondly, these Gorilla locks come in different diameters. Get the biggest one that will fit your wheels so that there is less room for anyone to ram in a socket to force your lug nuts.

man i live in the southwest and the subdivisions are really quiet at night making it the perfect target ... one person actually has camera footage of the rims being taken and the cops still didnt do **** ... when my dads were stolen they said just call insurance "we dont have time for this"
