Have you ever given a thumbs-up to a fellow RX-8 owner on the road?

I always wave or flip the lights at any rotary I see. Today I waved at two 8's while driving my FD. Got no response, but I gotta try.

I am on temporary duty in Hawaii, and I was very happy to drive up beside a guy in an alpine green RX-8. He probably thought I was kind of weird telling him how nice his car was and giving him the "hang loose" since I wasn't in my own 8 (its back in TX), but oh well. As has been said before, you gotta spread the love.

MANDITORY!! you must acknowledge fellow rx8'ers.. I see a red one on sandy lake road every other morning or so on the way to work in dallas... give him a quick light flash, or wave every time i pass him on the way in. he does the same

I hate seeing one when I'm driving a different car. I always try to look at who's driving the car and it would be much "less-creepy" if I was in my own 8. Of course I almost never see one when I'm driving the 8 (I think I've seen 4 total in 2200+ miles).

I get thumbs up from Mustangs, Celicas, Eclipses, etc all the time

But, my favorite is when I pull up next to a Z, G35, or Crossfire and see them checking out my 8 Don't usually get much acknowledgment from them though.

When I first bought my car I had only ever seen two RX-8s on the road. Now I see 'em everywhere. I've honked, waved, flashed, or thumbed at every one of them.

Number of times I got a response: 1.

I usually only have time for the ultra cool 'head toss' (actually ultra dorky, but it's all the game I got).

Ive seen maybe 5 other 8's, 2 of them blue (like mine).

Best response I got was the look of absolute shock on a young girl when our 8's passed... jaw hanging down and could tell she was saying "just like mine".

Make sure to give a wave/flash/honk/high sign to your fellow RX-7 owners. The RX-7 is the whole reason the '8 is on the road today!

I always acknowledge other 8s. Most do not respond. Are these people clueless? I got a good wave from a twin-turbo RX-7, though.

In the past three weeks of ownership, I have only seen one other on the road here, I waved but the windows were so dark in the other, I couldn't tell if they waved back or not........

For now I wave to fellow Miata and Rx7 owners, but once we get the 8, you can expect I'll be waving to them as well. ^.~ It might be one of you that I'll be waving to so I expect to see a big enthusiastic wave back. :D

And all along, I've been giving folks the finger! It seems to get more of a reaction. They seem to appreciate tailgating and passing as well. Sometimes I like to mix it up...

1. Start tailgating
2. Beep the horn/flash headlights, xenon high beams rock!
3. Pull along side for the pass
4. Show them the bird, it helps if you look at them and laugh.
5. Spice it up by talking on the cell phone while doing this!
6. Dart in front of them and cut it close
7. Tap the brakes just enough to show the lights

You too will be making friends in no time at all!

This was the best for me ...I had a guy in a silver Z350 come up along side of me and give me a thumbs up! I'm not sure but it almost seemed like he was doing the old "boy I wish I would've waited"..........Of course I waved back but didn't try to tangle with him as we know what the result would have been. At any rate, it was nice.....

I try to give a thumbs up or some kind of acknowledgement, but sometimes it's either too late or I was too busy changing gears or turning or something. I've seen a tit-grey one in RB a couple of times and on the 15 as well with a lass behind the wheel but have yet to get any kind of acknowledgement back.. oh well!

I gave a thumbs up to a Nordic Green on today. I was going to work with my brother in his '96 civic (no rice, just his everyday car). Keep in mind, I don't own an RX-8 either, but I am a huge fan. I didn't get a response. He just looked at me like I was some dumb kid.

I do the head nod as well.
But it seems that when I'm in my "8" there are none around and when I'm in the "beater/work" car, I see them all the time.

I alway show love to all the "rotorheads"

I wave or flash the lights (I see them all the time around Houston), but they almost always just ignore me.

With the yellow, it CAN'T be the car. Maybe it's me.....................

Not many opportunities since I've only seen 2 rx-8's on the road since I bought mine, but yes, this is such a cool car the people who drive one deserve acknowledgement for their excellent taste... especially those with blue ones. :D
