Happy MAF numbers

So.... I took a little drive from the base to the house I'm moving into later this week. Before I left, I added the Cat Temp, and Mass Air Flow to the Xgauges on my ScanGaugeII. found here

On the motorway I had a chance to open it up. Topped out 4th gear, on the way the scangauge reported 194g/s on the MAF (thats 25.66lbs/min):bootyshak

oh FWIW the things that might play some role... : MS Catback, gutted OEM cat, MM tuned AccessPORT, BHR coils ... thats it

I should see what I can get mine to.

Brettus 10-27-2009 02:29 PM

220 is what a good NA should do ...

paulmasoner 10-27-2009 02:33 PM

:( screw you brettus

;)

now i have to go and plug in the AP and see wat it says with its much better refresh rate

Brettus 10-27-2009 02:34 PM

heh

Jedi54 10-27-2009 02:53 PM

The AP will log the 'high' number so just go out there and 'give it the full beans' and see what comes up.

Last April of this year, I hit 234 gm/sec. That was back when my compression was good.

Mazurfer 10-27-2009 06:08 PM

Paul, just for the sake of it..........what are your CAT temp readings?

mysql101 10-27-2009 06:25 PM

From when my tune was lean... green=maf

alz0rz 10-27-2009 06:46 PM

I remember frequently hitting 220g/sec in NA form.

shazy 10-27-2009 06:59 PM

/\So that's 220whp right?! lol

MazdaManiac 10-27-2009 07:07 PM

220 g/sec is typical "good".
Its about 210 engine HP.

shazy 10-27-2009 09:20 PM

Lol I was kidding, but thanks for telling me :)
Btw, nice ass.

05rex8 10-28-2009 12:30 AM

I saw 416 g/sec the other day. :)

IIRC I dodn't see over 900C... but I dunno what that really equates to as I wasn't paying it much attention, it changes somewhat quickly depending on load etc, and it refreshed rather slowly on the scangauge

driving back down to my house this afternoon, i'll take the AP along and log the motorway. I'll be in germany most of november but hopefully soon my stuff will be here and i'll be able to actually test the compression, finally.

Here, see... I'm still happy. Like i said before this is: MM's AP, gutted cat, coils. nothing special - 44,000 miles. I've seafoamed the hell out of it every 10K

on a side note, my car seems to be enjoying the local fuel. our ration basically restricts us to only purchasing gas from Total stations. they offer deisel, 95, 98. havent had a hiccup or any odd numbers out of the 95 yet. Don't know that anyone other than local euro guys and maybe MM would even know what the fuel out here compares to though

Nemesis8 10-28-2009 11:49 AM

^ thats better :)

I need to do another data log and see where I stand with the low compression motor. It would be interesting.

i just went back and looked at my idle log as well. quite pleased with it, loaded area is lights, a/c, etc. I'm amazed at how much people beat up Jeef about nothing on their calibrations.

I'm still on the old school ones, went from the v1_0 where you eye'd your trims, to the v1_1a and I'm pleased with it. Perhaps its not perfect:dunno: but it works for me:evil_laug
