I just got my RX-8 last sunday

I really like the car but i was disappointed on the gas milage

I spent $100 so far this week

but I redlined it all the time

Im trying to save gas now

can you guys give some tips for saving gas??

drive easy, shift early, use cruise control......i only redline my car about 3-4 times a week whenever i get bored. i usually get about 21mpg with mixed city and highway driving. i'm not sure if you should be redlining a new vehicle anyway.

 

how many miles on it before you redlined it? I waited 3000 miles.

And are you making sure the car is warmed up before you go over 5k rpm?

 

Yeah, I hope this thing is already broken in if you are really "redlining" it all over the place.

otoh, there are some who think you should drive it like you stole it when it's brand new.
