Got my 8 today!!!!
Hey Everyone,
I am now an official RX8 owner. I bought a new 2004 RX8 w/ Grand Touring package and Navigation. Unfortunantly my eclipse before this was a total POS (yet I let the wife drive a 2000 3.2TL that I also pay for -- she just goes to school. -- I used this as leverage to get her permission to buy the car) so I had to take a small hit on it. I wound up getting the car for $26,000 OTD, but had to take a $1500 hit on the eclipse which put me at approx. at 27,500 for the car. Not a bad deal I don't think. I did let them talk me into the gap insurance and the disability, life insurance policy (well the wife nearly forced me to get it).
I am so excited that I doubt I will be able to sleep tonight!!

The color is Winning Blue with the black leather. (I dont see why they didnt offer the red/black leather in the blue, but I sacrificed interior color for my favorite exterior color).
I use to own a blue RSX Type-S so I the blue is a friendly and enjoyable color to me.

I'm curious. I tested an RSX-type S when I was looking for new cars. It was nice, but I found it a bit small and I didn't getting the pull from the car when I stepped on the gas that I was expecting. It seemed a little sluggish. After testing the 8, within 10 minutes I knew I was buying the car.
Now, on the RSX sites I've read tons about how quick thier stock RSX's (type s) are and how they think the RX8 is so slow, but I just didn't see that in the car, and we know how skewed car clubs can be, so since you've owned both, I was wondering what's your opinions on how these 2 cars compare?

The RSX-S was decently quick at high RPM, but so far the 8 seems a bit faster when you are not in the peak powerband. I did have a few mods on my RSX-S like the AEM CAI and Borla Exhaust, and it had been awhile since I drove it without those mods in there so I will try to take that into consideration when I first push the RX8.
oh and for the guy who wanted to know manual or AT --- 6-speed all the way!

Congtrats, you are here now blessed with fun filled driving experiences. What does "POS" mean? I keep seeing that word on the car forums and have no ideal what it means. Sorry if I sound ignorant. Someone please educate me.

Welcome, and grats on the new car.
The first rule of RX-8 club is you don't talk about RX-8 club, the second rule of RX-8 club is that you do not talk about RX-8 club, the third rule of RX-8 club is that you have to hate IkeWRX :p

It is a 6-speed manual transmission. I am also very familar with the search feature. I actually own a company that runs 45+ poker related website forums so I know all about how much a simple search can save on bandwidth, database space, and wasted threads.
