Smile Got mine! Need help

Alright! Got my new loaded Silver RX-8 on Friday with 28 miles on it. No appearance package (which I wanted at least the side flares - and black leather instead of the red and black that I preferred) First new car in many years. I still own and drive almost daily a 1985 RX7 GSL-SE - it's been a pleasure to own and drive it.

I have been using a 1991 Montero for camping/biking/kids stuff. So about 6 months ago I bought a Honda Element to replace the Montero and keep my RX7 as my fun car. But after driving the RX8 and reading this forum - I decided to sell the Element, keep the Montero (never sold it), and get the RX. So many thanks to all of you for the great information, specially those that had engine troubles and still decided to stay with the car. (I'm keeping an eye for engine podles)

It is an amazing car - and i've driven my friend's Porsches, Bimmers, Vipers, etc... This is just a great balance car that one just has to experience.

My daily drive includes an uphill curvy mountain road that it it just incredibly fun - I kicked *** there with the old RX7 - it has been unbeliavable to work the suspension with the new one through it.

My first tank was terrible gas mileage - let's see how it goes after a few miles..

Now - a couple of questions...

After the vehicle has been sitting for a while and you get it started and going again - there a low noise coming from somewhere up front - does this sound familiar? I was trying to see if it was related to releasing the emergency brake or not - but I haven't gotten a full anser yet.

Also - you guys help me out with my personalized tag. In my Element I had "MNIHUMV".

For this car - I am contempating:

ZOOMZOOM (but I think that I am limited to 7 letters)
ZUMZUM
RX8 ZOOM
MLFCRIS
NOCRISIS

The sound you hear is probably the ABS self-check. It's normal.

Men - you guys are quick!

great suggestions for my tag - specially since I have a couple of Z's and WRX's in my parking lot

And HEY - don't diss my Element - it was a great buy (used) and brought in almost as much as I paid for in trade-in. it was the only SUV that had AWD that I could afford that would fit my bike in the back upright!

elements are marketed wrong. It is the perfect car for a soccer mom. The plastic hold up in the parking lot, they have lots of room and it is easy to get kids in and out. Honda missed their market on this one

you must have a thing for suicide doors.

make sure you can back up some of those tags or you may be embarrassed. The last thing you want to do is have a tag that reads I8AWRX then get blown out by every WRX that comes along because they will all want you to prove it.

Or even ZOOM X2. Even with the space it's still only 7 characters.

i was trying to think of something like 4GENRX but i am not sure if it flies as being the 4th generation rotary. Something about 4th generation anyway.

Maybe LAZRUS because the rotary was brought back from the dead.

or FRESTYL for the doors.

RENESIS would fit on a plate.

HVNAT9K - my personal favorite so far.
9KNRVNA
5050BAL

give me time. I can think of more.

Mazda used Zoom Zoom with their SUV and the 6. If those are Zoom Zoom then the RX8 is much more.

maybe ZOOM X8

9KZOOM
ZOOMRX8 - reads two ways.

ZUM ZUM would be cool if you can get it; seems already taken here in CA. I'd put some umlauts over the U's with pieces of tape or such.

ZÜM ZÜM

Here's one that I decided against....

OK - forgive greese for I am new - but I am guessing that your tag suggestions have to do with 9K redline - correct? (yes - a little slow here)...

So Heaven at 9k and 9k Nirvana - cool.

I like some of the other ones too - but I do not want too many people asking me what the tag says - it should be fun to decipher but easy to make the connection....... I am leaning towards the zoom categories. Deciding by Friday - BTW - I am searching for the original post - but who qualifies for the $500 cash card?

yes, 9k redline references. its ok, you're from Alabama, we expect a little slowness (j/k i'm originally from B'ham)

true, the last thing you want to be doing is a) explaining it to people and b)defending yourself against every z and wrx in LA that wants to race you.

the dealers around here are already putting a zoom zoom sticker on the back window. Actually looks pretty nice.

I think the $500 maintenance card deal has passed but i can't find the thread either.

Yeah that was just an option for those who bought their cars prior to the revised HP numbers being released, and you would have needed to buy your car several months back to have qualified.
