Got a driving related award today! LOL

At work today i received a minor commendation for managing to make it in a few weeks ago on a very stormy april day while the streets were flooded with ice and slush and my train was not running. 75% of the office didnt make it in but i persevered and drove all the way downtown so my audit manager nominated me for an award, hooray. And better than that the rx8 made it through the slippery mess like a champ.

SWEEEET, chicks dig gold pens!!!!

Not to thread jack, but I thought it was funny (and on topic of awards).

I just got a Navy Medal for saving a Navy patrol boat a few months ago.... It sank at 10am, they tried for hours to avoid calling us cause we are Army and the Navy "runs diving". Their divers can't get it, so the Army boats (yep u heard right) get wind of the deal, call us, come get us at noon. We go out, raise it and get it tied to the Army boat at 10pm same day. And the Army boat, with Army sailors and Army divers, tows the Navy boat back in to the pier where EVERY Navy guy on base is gathered under the flood lights. Then we get a medal from the Navy, but they don't give it to us, or even show up. Our Army SF Colonel presents it... never even SAW a Navy dude on the whole thing except the spectators on the pier....

anytime you drive your 8 in very bad inclement weather to make it to work...that definitely merits "rx8 discussion"

Those who didn't make it to work, decided to use the weather as a good excuse for a day off!

"Navy Medal" as in it goes on your uniform? What's the name for it as written on the certificate? Who signed for it?

Where did this salvage take place?

Why didn't the Navy get it themselves? Were their people unavailable, or did they attempt? If so, what Navy dive unit were you assisting? Why could they not bring up a small object in a minimum of depth of water?

What type of Navy patrol boat sank? Why did it sink? Who did it belong to?

Who were these Navy Sailors who gathed at the waterfront past 2200 for a small Port Operations incident?

MazdaspeedFeras how's that employee of the month thing workin' out for ya?

POP! WTF!

That rocks, I am one of the few that end up at work in inclement weather. It helps that I am less than 4 miles from work and live just off of a state highway.
