Goodbye RX-8!
 

Hi All,

I don't post much on here, I was much more active in the RX-7 world (after buying my first RX-7 over a decade ago). I have had four rotary powered machines, and I've always loved their smoothness and amazing handling.

I had my RX-8 for almost three years, but have taken a pretty big step in my life that includes a new job, and moving my family to the other side of the country. I figured a "new" car and style would be fitting.

2012 Boss Mustang 302, production #2039 out of 4000. 444 horsepower, manual transmission, recaro seats, etc.

I've never had a car with a lot of horsepower or torque (or weight) so it will take some getting used to, but I have to be honest, I'm enjoying it even more than I thought I would, and I'm missing the RX-8 less than I thought I would (maybe because everything just "worked" on the RX-8 and I never had to get under the hood, unlike my 7's which I was always modifying or fixing just to get to class...).

Maybe in a few years if the 7 returns I may trade in my new beast... but probably not.

I'd never get rid of my 8 (I plan on being a lifer), but I am considering trading in my SUV for a 2015 Mustang 5.0 and just getting an older SUV cash for camping and utility afterwards (preferably a Bronco--Ford fan here).

Yeah, if you're going to get a Mustang, that's the one to get! I'm not a muscle car fan, but that one even tempted me!

Boss 302's are awesome cars. I normally dislike Mustangs, but 302's are great and extremely quick on a road course too.

I'm not a fan of the color but a Boss 302 will trounce an RX-8 is every aspect except the interior. It is what it is. I have always hated Mustangs too. But they have come a long way and by 2017 I will likely be a turbo variant of one.

My car flooded this month. The dealer is having trouble getting it going again. I am barely under the 8yr/100k warranty.

The only car I'd think of replacing it with is the Mustang GT500 preferably the 2013 or later.

Ok, maybe a stingray too but I'm not a chevy fan. The interior on the Camaro is UGLY as hell. Also, can't do 2 seats.
