Talking Good News from Mazda for US Bound RX-8s

Some of us have been concerned about removing the front license plate bracket from the RX-8 on USA bound vehicles. Good news! There are two 6mm bolts on the front and 1 Philips head screw that comes in from the back side. When you remove them they look just like the cars you have seen in the magazines. Halleluiah!:p :p :p

that is very good news...i hate having those buck teeth there when you remove the plates in other cars...

the only other good news i'm waiting for is an ETA and if we're getting the auto climate control...i'm not too worried about the latter cuz if it wasn't standard, surely it'd be optional at least with the GT package

Just so long as the 6mm bolts dont leave holes in the bumper once they are removed. I hope they bolt through the bottom of the upper face on the grill opening.

I've already told my dealer that drilling two big ugly holes in my bumper may be tantamount to a deal braker (it's probably not, but maybe he'll get the point).

Excellent. Anyone know how much weight this will save? Will it upset the CG?
