Gone, gone, gone

After five years of joys and frustrations, we've decided that we needed to go separate ways. Listed on Autotrader, sold three days later, 32k 2004 Auto. $12.5. This was my wife's daily driver, replaced with boring, but hopefully much more dependable Honda Civic EX (also she can fold down seats and throw her road bike in the trunk), with the expectation that gas prices will probably work their way higher and 28 mpg in town/37 hwy will be a lot more attractive than 16/22.

Automatic option was the worst thing Mazda did to the 7 and the 8.

MazdaSpeed3 is a sexy little car...its not an 8, but very nice for the pricetag. Fuel mileage is a little nicer than the 8 too.

Only way I'd go Civic is if I was buying a Hybrid

That is until the Hydro8 comes out! (if ever)

RX-8 is great for spirited driving once in a while but definitely not as a daily driver IMO. I had an 04 Civic Lx as my DD which I traded for an 09 Civic Si.

I need to point out that the 8 (an 06) shares the garage with the wife's car and the Civic (although newer) gets to enjoy the driveway!

That's crazy talk. Surely nothing can beat VTEC.
