So your gf's driving, huh? If you're on good terms with her - and you're a considerate bf - you won't have any problems, and you won't be left stranded in the middle of nowhere. (But if your use of the period . is any indication, you are, in fact, inconsiderate - and I wouldn't be at all surprised if you find yourself walking home.)

I drove from South Texas into Southern California...then all way through northern california and southern Oregon before coming back.......the only thing that happened was gas killed me.....and that was when it was around $2.50 a gallon

The 8 is a terrific GT car, a real Grand Touring automobile. I've done several trips of over a thousand miles. I wouldn't hesitate to head out for the east coast in the morning from here in Washington State doing nothing but checking the air in the tires first.

The seats are top-notch for comfort (I've done an 800-mile day), the amenities make it pleasant (from sat radio to left-foot dead pedal), the handling is superb, whether cruising the slab at 85 or whipping the snot out of some twisty mountain road, and it cruises easily at speeds that will get you locked up for a long time. Gas mileage sucks for a car this size, but even so, the range on a tankful is good, 250 miles plus, and that's what matters for GT use. If you want fuel economy, buy a Mazda 3.

Between a good-sized trunk (it'll carry 2 sets of golf clubs in the main well and other miscellaneous stuff on the shelf), and soft luggage in the back seat you can take anything you need along. Your GF may be a different matter, though. There's never enough space for a woman's gear.

Go, and have no fear. If something breaks, call for help, but fer crissake, don't sit around worrying about it. Just go!

PA to FL 1500 miles in 3 days not one problem

your car will only make it round trip if there is a pie in the trunk
