Gift comparisons

  • German preorders get a watch.
  • UK purchasers get a driving school.
  • Japanese preorders get a model.
  • US preorders get a book.
Any more?

UK purchasers get a driving school and a quality hardback book about the RX project. We're getting up to speed now! Shame we have a lower powered car though...

If I was able to chose what gift I would get, I would first want the driving lessons, then the watch then the book and the model last.

Canadians get nothing?

And I thought Mazda was cheap-a$$ for giving U.S. buyers just books instead of watches. Gives me another reason I'm glad I'm not Canadian or why I don't live there.

Don't be too sad.

How 'bout a fully load GT (without nav) for $29,200 USD equivalent (only 3.48 million Yen to be more to the point)? That's your gift.

Mazda will make up to $2000 USD more for every RX-8 they sell in the US (or about 230,000 Yen not including any differences in tariffs). For a car that they are going to sell every one they build the first year, they must be tempted to allocate more to the states and less to Canada.

I suspect 'the book' we have just received in the US is not 'the gift'. IMO, we will not get that until we take possession of our RX-8.

That's true, even though the changer wouldn't matter to me, since I'm planning on getting the MP3 player anyway. Plus, saving the $2k that Mr. Wiggles mentioned would be sweet! Maybe I need to recant my last post, stating that I'm glad I don't live in Canada. There are advantages, but I could do without the high taxes that's paying for all those social programs.

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True Rotary love and we save two grand.
With glowing hearts we see thee rides,
That Mazda North gives us the changer for free!
From our hearts with pride, O Canada.
We Zoom-Zoom on for thee.
Mazda keep the book I'm happier as can be!
O Canada, we Zoom-Zoom on for thee.
O Canada, we Zoom-Zoom on for thee!

wouldn't help Toadman, CBC would find a way to censor it like everything else American. Just ask Howard Stern.:D

A message I got from RX8Orders a few weeks back said we would be getting "GIFTS". Stay tuned.
