So i just got a new 2004 rx8 its black and it has 42k miles. i love this car the only bad thing is the ridiculously horrbile gas mileage, i have never seen such bad gas mileage on a 4cyl car in my life. i have a greddy exhaust on the car which i was told adds about 20 hp so my car is running around 250+ hp. does anyone know the 0-60 and quarter mile times on a stock? i havent gotten it to the track yet. i was also wondering about chips and things i can put in the engine. if anyone knows any good parts that i can put in it to get more hp or maybe get better gas mileage? just a general discussion.. thanks people!! keep on cruisin'!

i am sure it's someone from the boards that signed up with a new username b/c they were bored.

 

Check to make sure all your pistons are firing right. That could be why you have such low MPG. Also, try some stickers, b/c if you got 20 HP out of an exhaust on your car, then you should get about 5-6 hp per sticker.

Have fun being severely dissapointed at the track.

You got the Greddy exhaust? The RB would have had you at 280hp.

 

hmm, k about the stickers...ur wrong its 2 hp per sticker (especially stickers form snow boarding companies) 30hp if u get a big *** wing. 60hp for vielside kit, 20 hp for eyelids and about 25 for a CF hood. Anything more than that and ur car will sprout wings. Transam Kid please get ur facts straight

It's a rotary engine, ie, no pistons. So you're right. You've never gotten such bad mileage on a 4 cylinder car because you don't have a 4 cylinder car. You've got a twin rotary car.

Hell, I don't even own a RX8 (yet) and I know this.
