Gas Prices
Gas Prices
Well I live in PA and I just got my RX8 2 weeks ago. Lately the gas prices have been rising everyday. I just say 2day on my way home from school that they are now a $2.65/gal for premium 93 octane. To me I feel this is ridiculous. Especially on a car that doesn't get that great gas mileage(17 or so). I'm used to a Mitsubishi Eclipse that got gr8 mileage now I just feel we are getting ripped off with gas prices raising. What is your gas prices around your area and how do you feel toward the skyrocketing prices?
Thanx

Personally, I had a pretty good idea about what kind of gas mileage my car was going to get when I bought it, and I knew what gas prices do, so I've never really worried about it. If you buy a sports car, knowing that very few get "good" mpg, you can't complain about gas prices.
This isn't a gas mileage thread. He's complaining about gas prices in general. I agree, gas prices are pretty insanely high right now. Is it all because of that Esso refinery?
Yeah this isnt' a gas mileage thread I knew the gas mileage before I got the car I knew that gas prices rise I was just asking what other people thought about them and how much their prices around their area was.

It's a massive hosing. Prices are still dropping per barrel, yet at the pump it's increasing. Welcome to the world of big business. Just buy stock in a few oil companies and be done w/it.
"Does your RX8 run ok on 87 I'm afraid to put it in then have problems? Just wondering."
Plenty of answers to this already . . . yawn.

$2.65 isn't that bad...considering.
Last summer we were in the 3's.
What really turns my crank is the $0.75 Snickers bars in the vending machines at work!!! 75 cents! Frickin' ridiculous.

I paid $2.75/gal. for premium this morning. That's $0.10 more per gallon that I paid the last time I filled it roughly one week ago.
Oil companies have figured out that they can charge obscene amounts for gas in the US and people will pay for it. I don't ever see the cost of premium dipping below $2/gal. in the Seattle area again.
Meanswhile oil companies continue to report record profits. Makes me wish I owned a big oil field.

Im serious.
Gas prices are like the weather - everybody talks about it, but nobody can do anything about it!
I don't really pay much attention to the prices. I have to have it so there's no point in worrying about it.

Living in SE PA, whenever I go to New Jersey I try to get there on fumes. Southern NJ gas prices are 20-25 cents less per gallon than Philly. Combination of not having oxygenated winter fuels and (mostly) the lower gas taxes in Jersey. Right now we are in the $2.32 range for 87 octane and +/- 20 cents more for 93.
