FIRST - cut the attitude right now. because-

second- we cant answer how many miles you have left on the tank because we dont know the situation you are driving in when the light comes on. highway at 70 with the cruise on? in town with lots of lights and a lead foot? at an autocross?

what I can tell you is this- when the light comes on and i get to a gas station i generally fill up with between 13.2 and 13.6 gallons. that leaves just over 2 gallons. so that probably leaves you with between 28 and 50 miles to go depending on driving situation.

On the rare occasions that my gas light comes on, I usually put in 13 gallons, giving me about 60 miles before it would have run dry.

When my light comes on I have used 12.9 gallons. I have put 50 miles on from that point and filled up with somewhere in the mid 14 gallon range. Generally I will only put up to 25 miles more on before I fill up.

There is exactly 9 litres of gas in the tank, when the light comes on.
When the indicator shows that the tank is empty, there is actually 4 litres still in the tank.

I'm with namrag69 - some people on this board just love to flame a newbie and fill it with junk. Makes it hard for new comers to even find info in a thread buried with useless comments.

I seriously think the mods should weed the posts once in a while to keep threads on track in places other than the lounge. BTW when weeding - please remove my worthless contribution regarding gas lights.

The OP doens't have to cuss. And he didn't even edit it out after he was reprimanded.

He's not a newbie, he's a turd.

If you don't have a users manual but have a VIN why don't you just go on the Mazda website and download a copy? That way you won't have to whine at the start of your thread.

OP is right in assuming a flaming would result from asking a fairly simple question.
OP was not very diplomatic about it, causing a reprimand.
OP asked wrong question, making it difficult to help even for those that do so.

Mods have boatloads of crap to sift through here - including constant flaming of "newbies", (some deserved, some not), rediculous numbers of recall/my recall experience/will I need a new engine/there's a recall? threads. And if Zoom's right, there will soon be an explosiong of TPMS and other cold weather related threads. GD - if you think it's easy - sign up and do it!!

/end rant.

oh, and Dillsrotary cracks me up.

Oops - light comes on w/2.5 - 3 gallons left (in my experience)
