someone side of me honks at me and tells me there a garbage bag hanging on back of my car. so i pulled over and check it out and the bag was melted on to the muffler and some other part under my car. is there a way i can clean this? its smells really bad.

you can try carefully chisling it off, because it has likely melted into a rock hard lump and essentially bonded to the surfaces. basically, you'll likely just have to wait for it to burn itself off.

Same thing happened here, and Im in NY just like you.

Well, rip the rest of the bag out, let it burn, I'll say the smell will go away after around a week.(my own experience, yours might vary)

That totally sucks. I know the smell must be horrible. You can take a razor blade to it and get as much of it off as possible.

That happened to my mother-in-law and it stunk pretty bad, but in about a month or two it should be completely gone.

...and other drivers wonder why I avoid bags like if it's a land mine. LOL

lol@Ike. What's with you and Crossfires all of a sudden.

And that really does suck... I had a junior-size Jacket caught under my Miata once (no clue where the heck it came from). The poor people next to me on the highway who pointed it out to me probably thought I'd just run over a little kid.

i would wait till it cools off an try to pull it off.

at least it was the muffler, one time my miata sucked in a plastic bag and it melted to the radiator and oil cooler....of course all the temp gauges started to shoot up at a stop light, so I pulled over to check it out, that was a mess that cost me an hour on my way home from work..... I never even saw the bag. clear poly bag....damn it.

Same thing happened to me except it was bubble wrap. I pulled up to a stoplight behind an old Chevy Celebrity and thought "man that car smells like a$$."

I pulled into my garage and heard something dragging underneath the car I got very worried. When I looked under the car I was in shock...there was a good 6 foot long strand of bubble wrap stuck to various parts of my undercarraige. This happened about a month ago and the smell is still there from time to time.

I don't know how i didn't see it on the road...
