license plate???? license plate??? we dont need no stinkin license plate!!! wait in MO we do. thats a good question i never thought about that. as for the garage door opener. i think it would depend on what mazda wants to market the car as. a sporty car, then probably not. a luxory car then yes. dont matter to me i dont have a garage right now. so im screwed.

no way man... i think the best place'd be right under the headlight, above the break cooling duct...
hey, when you say "garage door opener", do you mean a place to put it?? 'cause that'd be a helluva good idea...

maybe on the plate placement but it still wont look good.
on the garage door opener, i think they meen one that is integrated into the car. my father in laws chrysler 300m has this. there is a button next to the map light that can be coded to work with your automatic garage door. then you don't need an extra remote. i think it can even be coded to work multiple things, like a motorized gate and the garage door.

Garage Opner & Tag Placement
Garge door opener costs a manufacturer about $0.99! It's a nice convenience item, sports car or not.
The license plate frame? That's easy! Look at any Miata that's ever been built. The frame is attached UNDER the front bumper and is formed to make the plate sit dead center. If you don't need a front marker or con't give a damn about tickets 9like here in Texas), than you can remove the tag holder and leave no unsightly holes. I've been running Miatas (4) since October '90 without a front plate without ever being stopped and ticketed, even though it is THE LAW OF THE LAND.:o

Only problem with garage door opener is that an entire cieling unit would have to be installed. It wouldn't be cost-productive to add that without adding other overhead components, sch as temperature guage, info center, and other stuff like that.
What they should add is probably the feature where radio stations can be changed from the steering wheel. On a sports car that depends on the driver to be mindful of the performance and gears it is not convenient to always be leaving the wheel or shifter to change a station.

I think the interior that reflects the exterior color in the seats and dashboard looks great, gives it more "sporty" interior. Just my personal preference

Interior thoughts
I wouldn't have a problem with a built in garage door opener. Maybe they can throw it in with a luxury package for those who want the extra stuff like heated seats, nav system, sunroof, etc. I agree with boowana in that it wouldn't cost hardly anything to throw it in, and it would be a nice touch. I personally don't have a garage, so it will not sway me one way or another.
I think audio controls on the steering wheel would be cool, I've never owned a car with that feature. The main thing is that we have cassette and in-dash CD player, not just one or the other.
I also really like the two tone leather seats with the body color matching panels. They are schweet! They look really good in the yellow and red show cars I've seen pictures of. I'd like to see how they look on the darker cars though, since I'll be getting black or deep blue.

I'm not particularly fond of the two-tone interior either. It does look good with some colors, but with others, it just looks tacky. Since I'll probably be getting a white RX-8, I think white interior accents won't look right.

So you put this "cassette" thing in there and it plays music? :D :p
Personally I'd prefer an MP3 CD player with an indash 6 disc changer over the wasted space for the cassette player.. Really, no offence to the older folks :D I am 31 yrs old myself but cassette should be optional in the year 2003. I had a CD player in my car in 1989!
