Question Forward License Plate

I hope that I don't sound like an idiot but I have not had the forward license plate installed on my car. I am wondering, in order to install the license plate, since there is no mount for it, would I have to get an auto body shop to drill holes in my car in order to install it, and if so, would they be drilling holes into the grill or into the metal? Please help me if you all can.

I Think there's a self-help thread on the mounting. No drilling that I know of. Mine came with a plastic mount for a front plate. The dealer had its logo on it which I removed 10 mins after I got it home. The front does not have a plate now but I live in Colorado so the RXs I see some do and some don't. I do get an uneasy feeling when a cop passes me from the other direction but so far have not been pulled over. The front plate is in my trunk!

ther is certainly a place for it that requires no drilling what so ever.

Where is the place for it. I looked all over the front of the car and I haven't found it.

^ yeah, examine the grill carefully. there are not holes on the actual bumper, but should be black ones embedded into the front grille

geeko,

Do something BOLD and just take the thing off.

How bad is the ticket?
Here in California, it's only $10 and you just need to have it signed off by a police officer.

after having driven around for 8 months without my front or rear license plates, nobody has said anything about it. i did get pulled over once for it, but that was only because my car was dirty and the cop said it looked "suspicious" that i would have a dirty car and no plates at all

Tekk, don't put it on man. I'm here in la jolla, the cops don't seem too strict.

Hmm... I was behind a black 8 the other day on the...57 and 5 freeway. It had no license plate or dealer frame. Was that you?

If you get caught in California without a front license plate it is only a $10 fee? Thats it?

I thought it was something worse then that...

I think so, either $10 or $20 bucks...somewhere around there.
When I got the ticket for no front plate (thanks Mr. Streetsweeper Cop) I had the choice of paying $ X and having it signed off or paying $Y (like an extra $10) and not having to get it signed off.

This was in Fountain Valley bout a year or two ago.

In Ohio it's $75. I figure that's cheap. Some people will spend hundreds, even thousands, on appearance upgrades. $75 for no front plate is a great deal considering the difference in appearance.
