In the pic Sea Ray posted in Feb 2004 in the calling all reds thread, it looks like he has omly fogs on without the headlights on..How do you do that? I pick up my new 8 tomorrrow. I had one last weekend for a test drive and I didn't see how to do that in the manual. It seemed they would only turn on if the headlights are on.

DIY foglight rewire!

 

Be nice if they had a indicater light in the instrument panel to let you know if they're on...

Actually they do. It's the same light that shows the headlights are on. While not a separate light, it does indicate that the lights are on.

 

Yep- works like a charm and only takes a few minutes. I use them anytime it's overcast as driving lights for added visibility.

Yup - just did it too, very easy. Actually, I just finished "upgrading" all the exterior lights and all was easy except....

Rear orange turn signal bulbs to stealth silvers-easy. Orange corners to Silver-easy. Fog light rewire to tail light relay-easy. Front turn signal replacement-not so easy. Have to remove the entire front bumper, then entire headlight assembly. Not that big a deal since the front bumper cover comes off easy, but still .... just to change a lightbulb? Anwyay, looks great now!!!
