flooded

Well girlfriend flooded car after moving it out of her way.
Would not start No-way
After looking on this site i was able to find a sollution.
Hooked up a battery charger, held pedal to the floor and cranked maybe 6 or 8 times. Released pedal and attempted to start. did try to catch. well long story short after about 45 minutes and 2 or 3 attemps like above car started with a big cloud of white smoke and no problems afterwords.
Thanks to this site it probably saved me a wrecker fee and a couple hundred at the stealer to get it started again.
thanks again to this site and all it's info

Dealer did the same thing to mine after they flooded it.

The starters on these cars must be made of kryptonite, no way a v8 starter would last that long, it would just melt.

You might still want to have the plugs checked out...you might get new ones for free (and a starter too, if you haven't had that done yet)

Left over combstion. That's normal when you get a flooded car started.

Here's an example of a good member. He used the search function, found days of reading on his problem, put it to good use, and posted his results. Good job.

Heck, it might be worth a shot to try though! I had right around 42k when my fule pump crapped out. Mazda roadside towed it to the dealership, and they replaced the fuel pump, starter & plugs under warranty...

glad that worked. I did what you did the time my old rx8 flooded, and it worked, but not without blowing smoke out the rear and stinking like all hell. I had some close calls with flooding, and getting stranded, but I simply revved the engine up and turned off the ignition to let the excess fuel burn, and after that flooding wasn't an issue, but you always gotta warm it up, or the risk is there. Like a time bomb waiting to go off.
