First Track Day @ Fontana

Planning to do my first track day this fall at the Fontana "roval" and looking for any tips or advice. This is my first track day ever and the car is stock. Don't want to be stupid out there so I thought people might have some tips on car prep, things to bring, etc.

Watching this thread. I would like to take my 8 to a local track day at Portland Raceway and to autoX it too. My car is also stock. I have some track experience through 24 hours of LeMons and chumpcar.

^what jason said, i would also like to suggest bring oil and premix to the track with you, check your brake fluid levels, get a flush if you can, make sure your tires are in good shape, and wheels properly torqued to the correct specs. Fontana is going to be hot, make sure your coolant reservoir is filled to the appropriate levels. Bring blue painters tape and zipties. If you didnt get a garage, a easy up or a beach umbrella is really recommended. Are you going tomorrow? i will be there, this will be my 2nd time running auto club speedway.

I suggest some knee pads. I always forget when I do autocrossing. bruises on the knees.
Especially your left knee because it will be pushing against the speaker grill.

this is what happens when I don't get the emails for thread updates!!!

Looks like all good advice. I never would have thought of the knee pads though lol.

Premix seems to be a back and forth thing for some people, but good for track days?

I didn't get out to Mazdafest as the car was not ready, but hopefully this fall i can make it!
