First Impressions of the Shinka
The Fort Worth 8 owners were fortunate to have representatives from a local dealership bring the new Skinka to our regular meet last night. I thought I would share a few of my observations and opinions.
Overall Color: Nice, but I thought it would be blacker. It looks kinda brownish/purplish. I like my red better.
Polished Alloy Accents: Very nice. The wheels are right in between the stock alloy and chrome. The same metal is also inside the front and rear lights and the accents in the headrest. Purely cosmetic, but classy.
Interior: Not a fan. The light tan color looks good on it's own, but inside this car it looks overwhelming and out of place. You have a very dark exterior with a contrasting light interior and it doesn't work for me. It was dark outside so I didn't notice any other interior differences.
Anyone else have an opinion about their Shinka encounters?

I saw it at the Chicago autoshow. I really don't like the purple color. It's too feminine IMHO. The interior was okay. I'm a little disappointed that you can't order it without a sunroof (helmet room issue).

The thing I liked, that not many have mentioned, is the "Shinka" emblem on the door b pillar. Other than that, not my cup of tea, but still a nice piece.

Saw it at the show, although I liked the piano black interior items, the seat color's way off, they should have use some kind of grey leather without the plastic pieces, it would match the headliner at least.

My Shinka just came in Yesterday to Indiana.
I just picked up my Shinka M6 yesterday (Tuesday Feb 15) in a suburb of Louisville, KY just across the river in Indiana. I had ordered the car in early December after reading about it in Rotarynews.com. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. That means the car is what it is and everyone is basically telling us about themselves and their programming when they knock it or love it. For me, this is the car I was looking for. I didn't want a dark interior, I wanted an unusual color, I wanted loaded, I wanted unique, and I wanted a RX-8. I've already put 175 miles on the car the day I got it. It is really a dream. I was really surprised to find extra body molding on the sides and rear and a Mazdaspeed type front end. I liked everything from the insignia on the posts to the two-tone interior. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I also think my 65 year old wife is beautiful and none of you do. Already I seem to be getting 20 miles to the gallon. Thanks to this webpage club for about 50 hours of preparing me to be an RX owner, from being careful on cold starts to all the "Little things" every likes about their car. This is a super club; and I just bought a super car.

Yes, congrats Promusic. I personally wish they had a lighter interior when I purchased. My blue baby looks great with the black but it is hot down here in the summer and a tan interior is cooler. The blue, titanium, silver and yellow would look sick with that interior but it really goes with the black cherry. You have a unique model sir.
