I have fallen in love with this car, and I have decided to buy one regardless of the MPG issue.

It is just possibly the most beautiful car I have ever seen, and among the most unique automobiles on the road. It has legendary handling, and rather remarkable power as well.

I have worked very hard for this money, and in this case I must do what my heart wants me to do. I have the rest of my life to make money, so I might as well enjoy life to the fullest now.

Im still debating on whether to get Red or Grey, either of which would the 04' GT model. I suppose the only real question I have left on the car is on how well the Navgation works. Is it worth the extra $1000 on a used car?

Welcome to the cult of the rotary, and one of the best cars ever made.

Now for some serious ****. at 16.5, you don't know how to drive. This is not a personal slight against you (you seem very smart and nice in fact), you simply don't have the experience yet. You have yet to see some of the incredibly dangerous, outrageously stupid things other drivers do. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE! I always approach driving from the perspective of I'm not going to drive aggressively because I don't want to ever risk harm coming to my baby. I'm also constantly on the lookout for any cars doing things that are abnormal (speeding, swerving, excessive lane changes), and then i stay the hell away from them because i don't ever want to risk harm coming to my baby.

Secondly. The 8 is a sports car, and needs to be treated with respect. People here bitch about it not having enough power or torque but the truth is that if you're trying to push the car, it has more then enough power to attempt to kill you. Never forget that until you get some actual track time and high performance driving lessons the 8 is going to be a much faster car then you are a fast driver. I've been driving for going on 6 years now, and I'm very aware of the fact while the 8 can be very quick and nimble, as a driver, I am slow and clumsy.

In short, Treat your 8 with respect and you'll have a car you love for many years to come.

PS: Get a red one, and don't bother with the nav unless you get a brand new 8. Some of the old nav systems no longer have map updates. I got nav in my 07 and i'm very happy with it, but realistically, an aftermarket GPS like a garmin street pilot will probably have map updates for a much longer period of time, and is a lot cheaper.

Be careful dude.

I have the nav and where I live it is only good for adding weight to the car and impressing people because I have a lcd in the car. I wouldn't recommend it.

I guess it can be useful, but I have always known what direction home was no matter where.
