FINALLY!!!!! (my new ride)

just last night my family and i bought our 2008 40th aniv. rx8!!!!!

made the down payment my self, and i'm getting a job for the monthly payments.

first thing done:meguairs wax!!!!! :P

pictures don't do this beauty justice. its so mooth to the touch, and shines like no other!!!!!

questions, i was looking through the back where i noticed in the hide away jack there are 2 eye loops or w/e. what are those used for? towing with our generous amounts of torque?

and lastly, i've always wanted the regular rx8 rims in black, but these rims grew on me, should i powder coat these black or would the 40th rims not pull black off?

its at 6k miles!

*****anyone know why my pics aren't uploading? =(

total meguiars process for me was like 3 hours. 3 i think maybe 4 chips, all as big as an ant. 2 hair line scratches. and i the front bumper has a bit of damage, looks like he hit a curb at like a mile an hour or, went up a ramp too steep. nothing noticeable, repairable. weather guard on right side has a 1cm sag. and thats it for flaws!!!
(wow pictures take forever to upload....)

gratz on the new car

The two hooks are for towing your car if you ever need it. If you look in the top right and left of the front grill you'll see pop out pieces that have threads behind them. If you ever need to have your car towed, use them.

If you want to paint or powder coat your rims then do it... anything you do is fine, it's your car!

Congrats! Lots of people would trade you for those 40th anniversary wheels. They're very nice looking as is IMHO.

Purchase:
Gratz! Welcome!

Pics:
No idea what method/service you are using, so really can't provide input on it.

Wheels:
I think you could probably trade 40th AE wheels to someone for their rims +cash, especially stock rims. They are highly desired on here and rarely seen up for sale or trade. If you want to powder coat the 40th AE rims, feel free, it's your car, but if you are unsure how they would turn out and want to go with a different look, you probably wouldn't have to take much time on here to find someone that would trade.

I know I would if I had that extra cash available

Yes, you are better off getting the older rims and painting those black.

Must be your lucky day, I just happen to have those in MINT condition, and I'll trade for yours + cash

Congrats on the purchase! Let the addiction begin!!!

That car is hawt! Guess I never paid much attention to the 40th... I like the way they've done the interior, and of course, you got the 09 wheels. Very nice.

I think they've got 18's that look just like that wheel for '09? Right?
I'm just looking on the Mazda site. Are they the same?

But, you're like me... I've only been interested in the 2009 R3.

I don't think the red interior with Silver Exterior match. Thats why we are all different.

Welcome to the club.

I dont think its red. I think its more of a deep brown, kind of like a sweet baseball mitt. Lookin good man. You make me feel bad for letting my car get dirty. Then again, I drove it 500 miles a week ago and its been snowing alot.

Do you mean the bottom line on the dipstick? IIRC it's a quart difference between the low (bottom) and full (top). I'm not 100% on that though.

can anyone confirm? if its a quart difference?

(it goes line, dot dot dot line for my dipstick, it might be because of the year difference?)

oh and will clear corners look good? i hate the orange, and have no idea what to do

Its about a quart, put in a half quart, then measure, then if you need more add the other half.

Clear corners will look great. Orange corners on any gray/silver/black looks retarded IMHO.
