CA Finally got my RX-8

finally, after years of looking around, trolling these forums(checks join date) i finally got my RX-8...so happy!!!
Winning Blue-6 Speed MT-2005

the only negative so far is trying to get up my driveway because its kind of steep, so i roll back really fast... still kind of new to stick but i have driven a MT car before, but only like for a day, and that was a few months back.

sorry for crappy pics

for now im trying to decide which to get first... because earlier today i parked my car at my friend's driveway, and went inside and when i look out the window i see these kids looking around while one of them tries to steal my front plate. god damn!
haven't even had the car for a day yet and its already attracting vandals!!

Looks very sharp; enjoy!

Just curious though as to where you purchased it and for how much, if I may ask.

I found an 04 Blue with low-ish miles for 13k . Looks like the prices are plummeting..

or

window tint?
i was thinking going 35% in the back and probably 45% in the driver side/ passenger side windows

i did, but it was really convenient to just go to carmax because im a bit rusty on MT so it was pretty easy to get home because it was only a couple miles a way. but i think i got a hang of it now, except for the hills

but anyways, for me i thought it would be much easier to see all your blind spots since the car is much lower than other cars but when i started driving i noticed there are a ton of blind spots and the side mirrors are very small!

also i have been driving a Nissan Pathfinder for a couple years before i got the 8 and lets just say i forgot that the ride height of the RX-8 is pretty low in comparison and when i was parking, i kind of barely scraped the parking block
i mean how can you tell if your close enough?

Probably clutch burn. Remember that as a rule you should never leave the clutch partly out - this results in excessive clutch wear as well as that "burning smell"...

As for hills, it's something that you will get used to. Thinking on how I do it now, basically I feel when the clutch is about to let out (comes with practice) and coordinate going on the gas when it does. It's really just something that you will get used to - if you feel insecure, find a hill and practice on it...that way you don't worry about stalling. Good choice on sticking out the learning process rather than getting an AT - you'll never go back after driving stick (AT just seems so much more boring :P)

Haha. Classic. "Surely you can't be serious." "I am, and don't call me Shirley."

I bought my '04 last year with 44k miles on it for 18 even. Fully loaded, and it was well taken care of. I haven't had a problem with it since. Not one little thing... just one flooding issue that was an easy fix (there was a convenient hill to push it down) and I got all of the flashes soon after.

Yeah, it's just excessive rubbing.
Sounds like you're riding your clutch. Stop. Haha.
Just practice and get good.
