Finally Getting My 8!
Hey guys...
I'm finally picking up my 8 first thing tomorrow morning! I'm getting a 2009 Aurora Blue R3 with 9,250 miles. I'll post some pics as soon as I peel myself out of the seat and grab a camera! I'm upgrading from a 2000 Accord SE, so needless to say I'm pretty excited.
It was owned by one owner, taken to the same dealer it was purchased from for regular maintenance, and is being sold back through the same dealer. It's also a Mazda Certified car, so it's got a decent warranty (especially for a used car).
I'm looking forward to being a part of the community!

Thanks guys!
Yes, this is my first 8. I'm 21, and the Accord was my first car (it used to be my grandmother's, but I paid for it what I'm getting for trade in 45,000 miles later :P). And yes, I've read the stickies and there is so much helpful info on this site.
And as far as modding goes, I'm not sure yet beyond buying a set of snow tires/rims for the upcoming winter. I figured I'd buy now and save up over the rest of the year. I pretty much love the R3 how it is now, from the paint to the rims!

Hey guys! I picked up my 8 yesterday morning successfully! It was my first real manual car... I've driven a couple before but just in parking lots for a minute or two, so I had to get used to manual.
But after driving it home (from Danbury, CT to [near] Philly, PA) and giving people rides and such, I feel I'm decent at it now. I didn't stall it til I hit a stoplight on a steep hill... :/
But anyway, the handling absolutely blew me away. I dropped it into 2nd and took a small S-curve at what I though was pretty quick, and I've never felt anything like that before! I can't wait til I'm actually good at driving this car. I don't think I'll ever get out without a smile on my face.
I'd also like to thank everyone that posts all the great information in this forum. It really helped me decide if the car was right for me or not!
And the paint on this car... no picture can ever do it justice. I couldn't believe it when I saw it sitting at the dealer. It's just... beautiful.
Here are 2 (mediocre) pics. I'll upload some more "artsy" pics sometime soon.

Thank you! I do love both the Aurora and Winning Blue colors, they fit this car perfectly. And yes, I quite love the R3 package. The advanced keyless entry and ignition is also a really cool add-on!

Meh, I'm not a big fan of the super extras. I like the base model, since it has the least amount of junk possible. I like my keys, I like not having to worry about 50 different features that I can do on my own, and I like only having what I need... But that's just me. Keeps the weight down.

Hey guys thanks for all the welcomes!
@rx8search- I searched all over for prices and for the car with the right amount of miles. I finally found one about 150 miles away, but prices in this area of the country are higher than what others are paying. I couldn't get them to budge from a $25,000 price, but they gave me extra money on my trade pretty much. Good luck with your search!
@rotaryp7- I love my rims too :P
@Novoken- Don't worry, I could never forget to redline! >
Thanks again for all the welcomes guys! This is a great community.

Grats on getting your 8 I love the color OP.
Does the R3 have a different bumper? I don't like the Smiley face bumpers Mazda put on everything. The older 8's look more aggressive IMO.
