Final Renesis Rear Door Decal!

Ok - this is what I've settled on. There seems to be a bit of interest on this, so if we can get it made then I'd like to offer it to forum members here. It'll be cheaper this way too! The decal will be white and approximately : .75" tall X 5-6"Wide.

Please note: there will be no black background or rectangle in the decal . It is *cut* vinyl , so all that get's adhered to the window is the emblem, lines, and lettering. Also, there is a ghost image, but it will not show on the decal. It's just a watermark that says "PROOF".

Vote if interested and post a remark so I know who's wanting more info when I get it.

EDIT:

I have updated the decal to this. Received the samples 2 days ago and they look great on my whitewater pearl. Will get pricing in by Tuesday. Stay tuned...

Thumbs up

Fire:

Any way to drop the "MSP" on the decal?

Other than that, I like it.

As I understand it, the decal can be cut straight up between the "-" and the "MSP". All you would need to do after the cut would be to manually peel off the part of the "-" that remains. If enough people want it without the MSP, I can maybe negotiate something with my vendor so there won't be additonal surcharges.

Fire:

I never even thought of that. Keep the decals AS-IS and folks who do not want the MSP can cut it off.

Thanks!

Nice job Fire. Looks real good. Not sure if it would show up on my windows as they have a dark aftermarket tent on them. Would be interested in knowing if it would show up.

Also, not sure what I am seeing but when I click on the thumbnail I see a ghost image of some white letters beginning at the rotor symbol and ending at the first '"s" in Renesis. ?????

Racer, it's a watermark that says "PROOF". It won't be there on the actual decal.
Mine are tinted as well, so we may end up doing it on the outside window. According to my vendor, the vinyl is supposed to last 7 years with outdoor usage so no problems there.

OK, thanks for the reply. I wasn't sure what it was. Couldn't make out what it said.

Also wasn't sure if they were to be applied from the inside or outside.

I may be interested, and I like the design, but I'm going to add a bit of constructive critisism:

The rotor symbol needs to be cleaned up so that it's more symetrical, the even line width implies a more mechanical or draftsman feel which I prefer (as apposed to other stylized rotor designs), but the circles aren't centered in the rotor shape, or centered within each other (I realize the e-shaft circle shouldn't be centered, I'm talking about the others). The small circles aren't evenly spaced from the corners either.

Also, the kerning of the 1 and the 3 (in 13B) needs to be adjusted. They need to be closer together so they match the rest of the letter spacing. Right now the 1 looks kind of like it's standing alone.

These are some really simple changes that I think would make it a much stronger design.

Personally, I would like it to just say RENESIS, but I can make that change myself.

I like your idea about the kerning and the rest can be tweaked Come to think of it, I think I missed the slightly off-center circles because of the 3-d effect it kinda gives.

I agree with Aipex8 on the minor changes, other than those I would buy these. I do like it with the 13B-MSP, but that could change once I see it in position. Better to have it on there and cut it off then not have it and decide you want it.

I'll chime in for a couple, too. Fine version looks great, but one caveat I can think of - if the sticker is only .75" tall, will the thin lines be reproducable in vinyl? Just curious. I would also vote for doing it on the outside window, so in 7 years when it does wear out, it's easy to remove/replace. Stickers aren't the most durable elements of the finish, usually . . .

Please don't flame me but seeing only the tiny picture when I clicked on the thread, I thought it read "RENESIS - 13MPG" ...

To add something more constructive ... I like the decal but more without the MSP on it.

Dark,
You can cut off the MSP if you'd like.
Fire,
How much is this going to sell for?

This is the official 'cut' vinyl versions. I received the samples 2 days ago and put them on my whitewater pearl and they look great. The renesis decal I put on the drivers side backseat window on the outside. The rx-8 club decal I had put on the rear glass centered near the top. I want to offer this to members and will get pricing within the next 2 days from my vendor. I'll keep everyone up to date on pricing as soon as I get this. Please be aware that these have an 'etched glass' look. Meaning the color of the vinyl is a greyish, non-reflective matte silver. Looks really good.

We are making the option 2 on the rx8-club and the renesis.

---edit
Also, the sizes stated on the picture are what it is available in. Had to make the renesis decal a little bigger because I wanted to keep the details. These will need to be affixed on the outside of the window.

I'm cleaning my PM Inbox and I found this thread also. The OP sent me a message on
11-13-06 saying the decals are ready but I don't think I responded to him. Maybe the interest died down?

I'd go for a couple of them if they are around. Did Fire ever come up with a price?
