A few things upcoming in RX Tuner

I know there are a lot of pole-sitters, haven't yet subscribed to RX Tuner for whatever reason. But I just wanted to mention a few things coming up in near future issues that might just encourage RX-8 owners to pull the trigger

- Just got off the phone with someone who has completed a 3 rotor N/A conversion in an RX-8. They have everything working right now except for the DSC. The best part is he wants to share EVERYTHING about the install - all challenges encountered along the way, and how they overcame them. I see this being something like a 4-6 page story, or possibly 4 pages across 2 issues.

- We are getting closer and closer to being able to stage our Forced Induction RX-8 Roundup. The way it looks right now, there will be at least 4 Forced Induction packages tested, possibly more. And when it happens, it will be a huge story, probably around 10 pages with tons of detail about each turbo/supercharger package tested.

- Daytona 2006 is going to be a coup for RX-8 owners, both in stock RENESIS trim and with the gaggle of tube-frame 3 rotor RX-8's that will be running. I'll be hanging out with Pettit Racing all week during shake-down testing and during the race, and will bring a full report.

RX Tuner is only $22 for 12 issues, not a year ... if it takes 18 months to get 12 issues, that's what you'll get. We're just 2 guys doing this for nothing but love, support us if you care about having a Rotary ONLY publication. If rotary owners don't support us, and we don't make it, I can guarantee nobody else is waiting for their chance to start a rotary only magazine.

Not to be a smartass, but I ended my subscription for a couple of reasons.

I would get my issues a month late, and sometimes not at all.

I'd love to see the mag at my door again if I knew this wasn't the case. I helped start a now very successful publication and I know that it's tough with 2 guys because that's all we had at one time. But I always gave my subscibers and my ad clients the product on time.

Again please don't get mad, I just wanted to let you know what I thought.

Is he going to drive it? or make it a dyno queen/paper weight like that other three-rotor. Acosta Motorsports, I think.

Of our 3800 subscribers, the VAST majority have no problems what-so-ever ... but the ones that do think that the forums (rx7club and rx8club) are the support path for the magazine. They think that if they reply to a thread I post in, that I'll see it and act upon it. And when I don't see their post, they get pissed and call it bad support. We have established support methods like any other magazine, either call 866-RX-TUNER or use www.rxtuner.com to fill out a support request. If you had problems, you should have used one of those options.

Either you care enough about rotaries to support the ONLY magazine that there likely will ever be in the US dedicated to them, or you don't. $22 is much of a leap of faith to ask for. And if someone like you really cared, and saw the problems we were encountering, you might even offer to help.

RX Tuner is never going to be some huge magazine with tons of money to pay a staff of tens or hundreds ... but we don't want to be. We want to stay small and keep it hardcore rotary, but be even that will never work out if the rotary audience doen't support us.

Even Brian or myself hasn't seen a dime from our efforts in the last 12+ months ... we do it for nothing but love.

It's NA, not a huge turbo dyno-queen. And he intends to street drive it, and use it for road course. Also Acosta didn't help him at all during the conversion, they wouldn't give him any tips or share what they had learned.

It'll make a sweet read, and with it there will be enough information that most any knowledgeable guy out there could reproduce their work. Sharing that kind of information is what the rotary community is all about.

I'll bite, just read some friends back issues, looks like the next year or so is going to be a bountiful time for the RX-8 and rotaries in general...

Good rotary news may not spread fast, but there's no stopping the continuing success of the 8 in both the racing world and in new aftermaket improvements for the rest of us.

Good luck and I look forward to your upcoming jam-packed issues

Wow Ike, you are on some sort of roll today!

I ordered 24 issues of your wonderful mag, ryan, about 2 weeks ago. Unfortunatly I have not recieved one yet, but I know it's coming cause of the confirmation e-mail. From what I hear, it is a great resource and magazine.

Highly looking forward to cracking open my first issue!
