few quick questions before i call the dealer

hello there, so my rx8 is in the garage and has been since thanks giving, before i put it away so this was last summer witch was the last time i drove the car it was starting to act up. by that i mean, it would hardly start after being driving for about 30 on the hotter days, the rpms would drop and it would feel like the car is about to die during idle(never has tho) the power seemed to to ok through out all the rpms. it was time to replace my plugs by the way car has 90050 as it sits now, i changed my plugs coils and wires(coils were loooong past due. first change at 85,000k i know thats terrible) anyways i thought this should help my starts or at least do somthing to smoothin things out. but it really didnt do much that i could feel... if anything the power was smoother in the higher rpms bout 6-9k. lets seewhat eles, i have never premixed ever. i got oil changes from mazda till 50,000k bought car with 20,000 after that i had tires plus do it tillabout 80,000 and since then iv been using royal purple. the car was flooded once at a detailing bay at about 60,000k got towed to mazda dealer had plugs and bagtt replaced. then i flooded the car somehow by running that zooom-zoom cleaner throught it, but was able to crank all of it out and it started up after pullling the fuel relay.

ok will a littleback round on the car heres my question?

im about to call mazda and schedual a compression test since its coming close to the end of the warrenty and i would love to have a new enegin in my spring time..
i have a few little mods and i wanted to see if you guys thing i should swap them out so i dont get hassled.

i have a billy goat B&B cat back(stock midpipe) dont have stock
i got some bhr i belive wires(red ones)
i got a short shifter
a few suspention parts(springs,endlinks)
and i took the little fins out of the stock air box..... dont know where they are

and thats really about it

also i know my car was made in late 04, even though its a 05 so i would assume i have the shitty starter... if my compression test fails i for some reson think they are going to bother me and say its the starter that is giving you the hard startand make me replace it before they replace the engine? can i tell them to F*k off and to look at the compression reading?

also one more thing. i started the car up yesterday and i got a cheak enegin light. i pluged in the PORT and pulled the SSV stuck open.... if and when the engein gets replaced does this get cleaned out. or do they just reuse it?

i have a billy goat B&B cat back(stock midpipe) dont have stock <-- If they give you ****, make'em prove it caused the issue.
i got some bhr i belive wires(red ones) <-- won't matter a bit!
i got a short shifter <-- No problem
a few suspention parts(springs,endlinks) <-- no problem
and i took the little fins out of the stock air box..... dont know where they are <-- no problem

Now, I believe you will get an SSV with the new engine should you need one due to low compression. Make usre you get three readings on each rotor and at ~250 rpms.

Oh...and if you get lucky...........please take better care of your car!

If it turns out it just the SSV, then Jon316G has an excellent thread on cleaning that.
