Has anyone seen a fender stripe on an Rx8?

I've got a VR and thinking about putting a bronze fender stripe on the drivers side to match my bronze wheels.

Basically I love the look of the 911 gt3 rs where there is a little paint to match the color of the wheels and think it looks amazing.

Yeah I've seen some fairly neat side stripes but I actually mean a fender stripe like these:

But in Bronze to match my wheels... basically wondering if it would like nice or freakish.

Never seen one on an rx8 before too. Just curious and wanted to see one whoever has one on their car.

to answer your question, i saw someone with it and i dont really like it but whatever. It was someones avatar picture, they made a post about an exhaust problem that i helped them out. Not sure who it was, i dont feel like checking.

SERIOUSLY! Usually im the one who is bored enough to go rummaging for pictures. Thanks for looking it up for me, i was not in the mood at all to click 4 buttons and return to this thread.

 

i think they belong on corvettes, some things just don't translate well onto other vehicles those hash marks are a signature of the gran sport corvette and should stay as such

I agree after seeing a picture of it.... not sure if it translates very well onto an rx8 or not.

I've found a cheap set for like $20 that I can get in different colors, may try it out if I can easily remove it; however, if I can't easily remove it I will leave that for the domestics.

^thats another thing im scared about, even if its removable... the sun will fade the paint around the sticker and once you peel it off when you dont want it anymore it will look like trash

 

Great point... didn't think about that hazard. I guess I will see how it looks with the new wheels hopefully the bronze and vr wont look out of place.

 

another idea might be to try using this stuff called plasti dip. create a stencil, spray it on and if you dont like it, itll just peel right off. if you keep the stencil, you can chagne the look every week or two and dont have to worry about the paint tarnishing (theoretically, anyway). just a thought.

 

Yep we have a local who is not active but he had silver racing stripes on his BB 8 and after a few years he decided to remove them and the paint was faded around the stripes. So he had to get new stripes put on
