fees for diagnostic

Hello,

Dealer is trying to charge me a diagonistic fee for brining my car in to get it checked for clutch doesn't seem like disengaging (fee of $95) and for gas consumpution of 200 miles per tank ($45). My car is 2005 with only 14K miles on it and i bought the extended warranty. Does this seem correct for them to charge me a diagonstic fee? Thanks for your help.

Let me save you some time. Gas mileage, normal. What do you mean by clutch wont disengage? If you mean when you are at a stop and you put it in first gear and you feel a clunk, normal. Just saved you $140.00, maybe....

They are not suppose to charge, go to another dealer! Your car is under warranty, how can they charge you for diagnostic, dont let them fool you. List the dealer name so we can stay away from it too

senator mazda in sacramento california. They are not very friendly. All the times i brought my car in for service no car wash. I also have to revolve around their schedule as they only have rx8 tech.

The clutch makes a whirring sound when the clutch pedal is pressed in and you put it in second gear. When you take it out of gear into neutral with the clutch pedal pressed the sound is gone.

pilot bearing ? sounds like it.

Stay away from that place! We need a thread by state that shows who is good and who isnt. It makes it a lot easier to search by state rather than region.

okay, this place is a joke. They told me the tech is most free on wednesday so i dropped off the car at 7 am sharp this morning, now they tell me that haven't gotten around to fully diagnose the problems and have to keep the car overnight. Come on now, the dealership had my car the whole day plus i made an appointment with them stating my problems so they should have allocated the correct amount of time. I am upset. I apologize for venting.

That's not good to hear. I'm in the Sacramento region and looking to buy but best deals seem to be out of the area. Did you buy from them?

A few months ago I was experiencing symptoms of my clutch not disengaging effectively during hot weather and excessive clutch pedal travel to clutch engagement of approximately 2". I took my car to the dealership showing them the below TSB regarding the clutch issue. They replaced the clutch slave cylinder and this resolved the clutch disengagement issue I had. Good luck. 2005 with 20k mi. at the time of replacement.

your gas consumption is normal for 50/50 city highway driving. and it sounds like you are hearing your throw out bearing which is normal.
