hey guys, I just finished recording my 0-60 time, very shitty......but my car is an auto, but I used the manual shift got 8 seconds..........

any others?

 

the fastest 0-60 for the rx8 from a legit magazine is a very respectable 5.8 seconds by car and driver in the 10 best comparison in 2004

 

You must have an 04...those things are slugs. Sorry tis true. You could get blown away by minivans and econo sedans.

seriosuly, id love to start the auto 4 port debate but, itd be typing for hours, those cars suck azz.

yeah 5.8 was some hero on CD, but if anyone asks me what itd do i say low 6s bc i like to round down and besides, mere math would tell u a 5.8 run from these cars, u gotta be Jesus or the Stig to complete that

Current Car and Driver says RX-8 0 to 60 is 6.5 secs. 350z is 5.2, Shelby GT is 5.1, and Audi TT is 6.0.

But they liked the 8 bestest!

 

i believe that the 6.5 was considered a more reasonable start time...meaning feathering into the power at 3K as opposed to demolishing your clutch at a suicidal 8K drop.

I wouldn't doubt a 6.0 or so with a high clutch drop, but how many people are seriously buying an 8 to take to the drag strip?

 

Don't know if this counts but I used a G-tech a few mos ago. My best time is listed below:

60ft - 2.25
1/8 - 9.33 @ 77 mph
1/4 - 14.5 @ 93.6 mph
0-60 was 5.88 sec
AVG WHP was 175.6

I agree, screw the straights, the 8 accelerates fast enough, the turns is where it shines at!!

FDs could do 5.2 if they had Jesus aka Stig behind the wheel, good luck doin it in a Z.....hahahahhaa

 

Take it to road course and you will see just how good it is in the turns. I was keeping up with Vets, Mustangs and others. I would pass them in the turns by the time the straights came up I was already way in front. I just love this car in the turns, but it is lacking on the straights, which I realized when I road in Trans AM WOW.

One of the credible mags had the FD at 4.9 back inthe day. Totally awesome!

Stats no good unlessyou post the input data.

 

That 5.8 CD was a follow up review of the same car and believe it was faster than the initial review time. I have it here somewhere and if I'm wrong I'll let you know.
