Question Fast Lane (aka EZ-Pass)... where do YOU put it?

Those little white transponders that let you drive through toll booths without stopping....

I just got a "Fast Lane" transponder for my new RX-8 today, and I was curious: Where do you mount yours? They're supposed to go on the windshield, but I don't really want to have in in my view, and it looks so ugly from both the inside and the outside.

so, where do you keep your fast lane (or ez pass or whatever it's called in your state)???

EDIT: check page 3, post 33 for my ULTIMATE solution...

If you tuck it above the rearview mirror, it's more or less out of the way...

Of course, I don't know how big your transponders are...

I don't have one, but I see some people just hold it up when they drive through the toll.

In NYC there are so many tolls that it would be a pain in the ***—and unsafe—to grab it and hold it up to the windshield every time. Mine's attached to the windshield with the two velcro strips they supply. I have it positioned behind the rearview mirror so that it's invisible to me when I'm sitting behind the wheel. It's easy to pull off and stash in the glovebox when you park, if you want to. In NY you can also opt for another version that goes on your front license plate frame, leaving your windshield clear. But the windshield mount works for me, plus I wonder if the license plate mount would be too easy to steal.

I mounted my EZ-Pass behind the review mirror and painted it black. You do not notice it inside or out.

painted mine black and put it in the black dots next to the rear view mirror on the pass side. cant see it at all. my radar detector is on the other side in those black dots as well.

the little 3M sticky velcro stuff really sticks on those dots too! i even got a couple of them to hold up my radar instead of the suction cups (the cups dont work well on the dots)

I Keep it handy under the seat or in the center console and just pull it out as I pass through. Shame on all those daily commuters without FastTrak!

I have the front plate mounted ez pass and I have locking plate screws so I don't have to worry about theft.

Like Expo, to the right of the rear-view mirror where it doesn't affect my visual field at all.

Stuck to/behind the inspection sticker. I just throw a new foam sticky on it once a year.

+1 for painting it black though. Good idea.

NH gives 30% off NH tolls to residents. I had to change from a NJ pass for the discount.

Illinois gives 50% off (or they did in the beginning...who knows what they charge now).

Stew, I put a piece of black electrical tape before painting over the bar code so it could still be read on their scanners if I need to bring it in.

You guys should be careful. I'm pretty sure that is still government property. They may bark at it!

Mine was on my windshield till I had to get the windshield replaced and the sticky stuff wore off the Smart tag. Now I just keep it in the cupholder and pull it out at the toll lane.

whatever 3M velcro sticky stuff they give out with the IPass is AMAZING. I have four little pieces of it currently holding up my radar detector!

It should go in the hall of fame as "super sticky stuff."

Is it wrong that I go grab a couple whenever I'm out by IPass headquarters?
