Expensive front hubs
Expensive front hubs
I'm almost ready to get my car back on the road, but noted some play in the front wheel bearings. All discussions point toward there being no good substitute for the real Mazda parts - I'm running big sticky front tires and at least autocrossing, maybe track work too. These will see more than normal street use.
I have an '09 without DSC, so I need part F151-33-04X.
I had a Mazda Motorsports account but the car has been off the road for too long and it expired, I don't have a recent race result to submit to renew the membership.
The best price I'm seeing is $283+shipping from Mazdaonlineparts.com.

For two of these with shipping I'm over $600. Do I just have to bite this bullet or do I have any other options?

I understand where you're coming from, that is steep and I wish there were other great options available.
That said, as crappy as it is $600 is still far cheaper than mechanical repairs and body repairs should a cheaper option or your current worn ones give out during use.
Friendly reminder, you can use any Mazda vehicle and have race results to be able to (re)apply to the program. It isnt ideal, but if you have another AutoX-eligible Mazda vehicle you could give that a go to get back into the program. Worth a try anyways.

they arent cheap. i replaced them on my first 8 and shortly after a deer totaled it. i saved them when i (sonic) stripped it and they are sitting on a shelf in my garage for spares
Can someone with a MM account tell me what the pricing is? If it's a significant savings, I can just wait until I get the car back on the road, do a silly local autocross, and renew my account. I do have extended lugs that I wouldn't want to waste on my existing worn out hubs.
