Hi Rx8 fans! About 2 months ago I decided it was time to upgrade from my 98 Prelude. I searched all over and at all types. I even looked at German and American (not typically my style). Then I came across the 8 and I must say I was intrigued. The more research I did the more fascinated I became.
Found one listed online by a private owner and decided to go check it out. It was even more gorgeous in person. The guy was the only owner and took great care of it. It was a 2007 GT with 70K miles and just about every package and add-on possible except navi. Black with the red and black leather interior and that mean looking body kit, halo lights i believe, 6 spd, chrome wheels, smart key, the works. I was sold right then and there. Picked it up for 10.5K, think that was a pretty good deal. Haven't even picked it up yet but I cant freekin wait! So excited! Im new to the whole rotary idea but I am eager to test that 9rpm redline. Anyways, any advice to a NEW owner. Look forward to joining your community.
Only have one pic as of now, but definitely looking to take more once I get it on the road.

Read this thread https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-discuss...t-here-202454/ and also pray that your engine is healthy since it sounds like you may not have tested the compression. If the link does not work then look for the sticky "New and Potential Owners START HERE!" in this sub-forum.

 

I had to drive to another state to look at the car so unfortunately I could not conduct a compression test. But I brought with me my mechanic who has over 30 years experience. We ran it and drove it and it went beautifully. Sure didn't seem like a car with a loss of compression to us.

Yes I believe so. That is atleast what the previous owner claimed. How do I tell for sure?

 

Drive really fast and listen for the "ZOOM ZOOM" whisper. When that happens you know it is Mazda Speed.
