Excessive Condensation

Hi all,

I live in Florida, and am the proud owner of a Sunlight silver 2004 RX8.

I have to park the car outside, and for the past few weeks I've been getting so much condensation on the car at night, while all the other cars around it aren't getting any at all.

Does anyone else have this problem? I have no clue how to fix it. I Zainoed today, and by 7pm the car was covered in condensation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Stop driving your car so much...
Seriously, the only explanation I can offer is that you are out driving your RX-8 while your neighbors' cars are already cooling down for the day. When the temps start dropping in the evening your car is still very warm keeping a nice layer of warm air just off the surface. Eventually it cools rapidly and takes produces more condensation than the other cars.

Actually, the rx8 had been in the drive way all day, and hadn't been driven once. The car that had been driven in didn't have any condensation at all until about 3 in the morning.

I think I might have figured it out. I park the car in my concrete driveway, which holds water really well. So when it rains, the driveway stays wet for a couple days, and the moisture comes up and condenses on the car as it evaporates. And as for last night, I had just washed it in the driveway, so the driveway was soaked. I'll try not parking in the driveway when it's wet and see if that solves the problem. Thanks everyone.

Condensation is a global problem - I blame Al Gore.

BTW, it's nice to see that in 2003, some RX-8 owners had such trivial problems.
