I just bought an 04 RX8 AT, and I have seen some photos of other RX8s on here and I was wondering if I was supposed to get an engine cover thing (not sure of the tech term) here is a picture of what I mean, its covering basically the rotary towards the windshield, shaped kind of like a v shape.

Did you buy it from a private party or a dealer. If you purchased it from a dealer, I would ask them for one. Tell them it's needed for the engine cooling system to function correctly.

I got it from a mazda dealer used, if they dont give me one am i able to buy one? also how do i find out if mine is a GT or not? probably a dumb question

if mazda doesn't give you one just check out the for sale section on the boards and usually there is someone selling one....

if not post a wanted ad up and I'm sure someone will give theirs up....usually I think the sell em for like 20 bucks or so

There's always OEM engine covers on the for sale section for like $25.
