Just got an email from my dealer indicating that the second East Coast ship is On Water. He also shows the first east coast cars in port. Their expected arrival at the dealership (from the system so who knows) is 2nd week of July for the first cars and 2nd week of August for the second cars.

My dealer is in Greenville SC which is about 5 hours from Jacksonville by interstate. He also said that his cars arrive ahead of the estimated delivery date but that is also up in the air.

Yes, this would definitely be good news, but I want confirmation, as well. Someone (Ifubar) want to run my VIN again to see if this is accurate? 2nd week in Aug., though...Damn, I was hoping for a July delivery. We'll see.

which dealer did you order it from?

 

I ordered my car from Bill Britt Mazda in Fredericksburg. That dealer has quite a few RX-8's still unclaimed (2nd and 3rd allocations, maybe some on this first boat). I'm getting one for MSRP, hopefully I'll get some options thrown in.

 

I am familiar with Bill Britt, I have even bought a few vehicles from them. I had good dealings with them.

which I've been told means it should be on water soon (if it isn't already on its way) Most likely second shipment.
Hopefully here by early August if not sooner.
Looks like the only one coming in the first shipment unclaimed is Brilliant Black, with Black/Chaparral Leather, 6sp Manual, GT.
My father put in word for them to hold a silver one for me, but I've changed my mind and want black with all black leather now Going through another dealer my Dad deals with now that has my black 8 with the black leather, and added on a few more options that hadn't already been on order.
I can't wait to get it!!!

 

HalleysComet, the original one that was ordered for me was a brilliant black GT with nav, but it has black and red leather. That was a preorder and I think it is unclaimed at Bill Britt right now. I wanted a black touring package with no nav. So you might be able to get hooked up with that one, 1st shipment, too. PM me if you want more details.

My dad can go on and check status and vin #'s (he works for the Mazda Corporation) he already checked Bill Britt (one of his). The only extra one coming on the first shipment there that isn't already claimed is Brilliant Black w/Black/Chapparel leather, NV1, 1GT, 6speed manual. My car is at Brown's Mazda, due in the first shipment, unclaimed until I put my name on it. There is a Silver GT with black leather on order status for Bill Britt, and Silver GT in Factory for Brown's, one of which I had my father put my name on until this past week when I changed my mind on the color and decided to go with Brilliant Black (which is gorgeous in every photo I've seen) with Balck Leather F3. We did a search and found the car I wanted, I added on a few accessories to be added at Port and should hear something final on it by Monday afternoon. They also have 2 Brilliant Black in Factory status (at Brown's) both GT due in the second shipment. One is loaded, one is not.
My father and I went through every dealer on his list looking to see what was on water not already taken. Most are already claimed coming in the first shipments, still some uncalimed though, but only 1 or 2 at most of the dealers. The second shipment has a few more unclaimed among the different different dealers. My father says the dealers got their number of RX-8's based on their sales of the Mazda 6. So if a dealership sold a lot of Mazda 6's then they will have more RX-8's on order.
I could go on and on....lol.
I can't wait for our 8's to arrive.

I Would love to see if my name is next to a car "on the water" . My dealer says everything is fine and he has double checked my order but when I call the 800 number for mazda they have no record of me!!!

it might be that they didnt put you through the mazda preorder program and instead just assigned you one of the cars that was coming to their dealership already configed the way you awnted yours.
