Dummy buttons beside DSC

Can the dummy buttons (or whatever they're called) beside the DSC button be easily removed to insert a functional rectangular button?

I have seen this in the DIY section, but I can't find it now. It is not a DIY topic on its own, but part of a stereo install I think. I have seen pics of a variety of things mounted there. Sorry I can't find a link. I have done it myself on other cars and it was simple (snap out, mount item and snap in).

^ jsut going to post it, they work great and its really easy to convert them over. Just some basic tools and time. Just getting them out of the bash is a real bi*ch, there is a tab on the top and bottom you need to get to.

that *empty* space was designed for Manual headlight leveling adjustment. since we dont have that option in US-Spec rx-8, that space pretty much left out for whatever you want to do wwith it.

Thanks crew! I found the DIY. Might just mount a button inside the coinbox itself.

Jedi, do you mind if I PM you sometime to ask some advice about my install. This is my first wiring and I don't want to blow up.

I have mine run the stereo without the keys just push the button and it plays with no annoying beep if the door is open. Want to have them power up the car for push button start but the rfid range is getting in the way.
