why do evo drivers think they are so badass? this kid at school gives me so much crap about my 8 and says how much better his evo is. all i say to his talk is idc, and he gets all up in my face about it.

i parked and got out & some randomn boy came up to me and was like :

boy:nice rx7 my dad has one
me:umm its an rx8
boy: hah rx7, rx8 there all the same thing
me:.......... i gotta go to class

Just like to say as a former Mitsubishi owner (GSX Eclipse) they are fast and fun to drive but heavy as hell and the transmissions are crap!!! I would take my 8 or my FC any day over the Mitsu.

 

Lol yeah I'd rather have the 8 or an FC over the eclipse ... Although the GSX does have a **** ton more potential than either of those cars.

 

I like evo's. At least better than STi's or SRT4's

 

I had a lot done to that car and it was fast but the transmission wouldn't hold up for anything. I put 5 transmissions in it over a 3 year period. I will never own a Mitsubishi ever again.

 

Uh...Wouldn't it have been smarter to swap the tranny for a built one after the 3rd? And what is "A lot"? Shoulda just sold it and saved the tranny rebuild money for an evo lol

 

yeah, I had the tranny built with all the specs that John Shepard uses but I just couldn't keep it together. I had about 300 - 350hp at the wheels so it was destine to be an issue anyway. My friend has a TSI with a TRE tranny and he even has issues with it. It's just a bad tranny design. I used to be a mechanic at a shop, and I know quite a bit about cars so I am just chalking it up to a bad design. I'm sure they fixed a lot of these issues for the newer evo's but I just have a bad taste in my mouth from Mitsubishi now.

 

What is with the "is that a mustang" bit... its like people think any sporty looking car is a mustang? Our cars don't look anything like any generation of mustang. I have gotten it 3 times!!

All of my sisters friends were over today (highschoolers) and my siblings like to show off my car to their friends (especially my brother)... anyways they were all taking pictures of it in my driveway. Cmon its an 8 with no other mods than window tint haha

 

I remember when I took more pride in my parents cars than my own when I was too young to even own a car! I mean I showed off the beamers just as much as his old school gt40 and the reaction was always very similar. Lol just smile and be happy lol.

My guess to the mustang confusions is the r3 versions of the rx8. With the side and front skirts it "boxes the car" a little more and is not right off the bat recognizable mazda. Although if they are confusing regular 8"s they just don't get it. And come on our cars do have similar looks from the from side and back to the viper, because of the rounded edges and bulges. Unfortunely that would be more of a negative point for me cause of my hatred for those POS cars lol

It is amazing the attention even an all stock can draw. I got talked into doing a local car show by a friend. I spent the day saying "No the doors come like that" and showing the keychain to explain the engine. The onlything I had done to it at the time was Zanio and window tint.

I took 1st in class lol. The guy with the heavily modified STi 2 cars down (beautiful work and I don't even like STi's) didn't even place. Gotta love Iowa car shows

 

i had my 8 parked one day at a movie theatre and there were two chicks with 2 guys. one had a sweet looking rsx-s and the other had an s2k. They parked right by me and one of the girls looked at it and was like i really like this car. Then she ran over to the back of it to see the badges(atleast she had a slight clue on where to look lol)...the only problem is im debadged

she was so confused lol and i heard them talking about it all the way to the movies

and ive gotten the 2 door thing and the wtf...no pistons? all the time

and ive had 2 people say it sounds like a space ship...and one person say it looks like an airplane with all the gauges and dash lit up

 

That's what you get for having a ******* SEXY car. It's a lady in RED too from what I can tell.

 

I get it called the BATMAN car all the time because of the Body Styling, Navi, Gauges, and the Rotary sound, and the doors thing also. 4 years later and i still get the "what kind of MAZDA is that?" Rotary what the heck is a rotary?

DUDE I GOT THE BEST STORY THAT JUST HAPPENED YESTERDAY

I got a parking ticket yesterday. My car is completely debadged but in front of the rear wheel well I have a TEIN sticker.

haha the dumbass wrote down my car model as a "TEIN''

So my car was a Red TEIN on this ticket. Should I even pay that?
