Dropped Ring down Defrost Vent

My wife's friend accidentally dropped her wedding ring down the defrost vent above the lcd display. Anyone have an idea on the best way to try to get to it? any suggestions are welcome

Is there a way to do that without removing the radio?

Removing the radio isn't that hard. The only difficult part is that you have to kind of snake up under the steering wheel to remove a 10mm screw on the driver's side of the radio. After that, just pull up the center console, remove the bolts from the front, and yank it out.

Thanks for the quick replies. We took the center part off above the radio and air vents, then took the center speaker out, Cut three slits in the duct under the speaker mount, "peeled" back the plastic and went fishing with a coat hanger. Wasn't the most fun I've ever had. Now just letting the patch work on the duct dry, and tomorrow all will be put back together. Again thanks for the help

Nice, I'm assuming this means that you got it out successfully? What a pain! (does your friends husband know she was in your car without her wedding ring on? )

Yeah we got the ring out. She had taken the ring off to put lotion on her hands. I guess she "tossed' it up on the dash, and after a few tings, clings, and a oh crap, it was down in the vent. I was kinda thinking the same as casedogg. But my wife said when she turned hard the ring rolled back and forth in the vent.
