Don't use blue LED foglights
I bought blue LED fog lights for my RX8 almost two years ago. The Mazda dealership here in Washington State even installed them for me when doing a routine maintenance check-up. However, I got pulled over by the police this evening, and the officer said that any type of blue or red lights on the front of a car/truck is illegal. He let me off with a warning at least. So I'll take them out and put in yellow or white LEDs to replace them. So, i'm an idiot for not reading up on the law apparently. Just a warning out there to you guys. Take care! Happy 4th!

Aren't blue fogs only blue when they're off, don't they emit a white light? Maybe the cop was wrong to give you that ticket.
But I'm reminded of when I almost got run over by some numbskull who loaded up the front of his car with about six pairs of red lights. I almost stepped right in front of it, thinking it was going away from me. Fortunately, I was disoriented enough by the fact that it was in the lane that had traffic flowing towards me, and the car seemed to be getting bigger, that I hesitated long enough for it to go by.
I bet that guy had just put those lights on, and that he got a ticket from one of the first cops to see that car. I'd be surprised if those lights were on there for even a week.

Will never understand the fascination with emitting anything but white light from the front of a vehicle.
Forward facing red light is illegal on all non-emergency vehicles. Blue light in any direction is illegal on all non-police vehicles. That includes your gaudy light-up windshield washer nozzles, license plate frames and whatever else was on sale in Wal-Mart that day.
