Ok. I have a 2005 Mazda RX8 with 62000 miles on it. Its my eceryday car and I love it. Its an AT btw. Yes I know........ It has a govenor on it, so I was told that tops at 125. I love to challenge cars in my lil town. Sometimes I win sometimes I dont. Its not a big deal. But at the same time I want the car to go 170 tops. What do I need tot add to the car to make it go 170. Again its an AT with 62000 on it. PLease be nice btw.....****.

Probably not what you want to hear but word of advice, making reference to street racing could get you banned from the forum. Just be careful on what you post before you get in trouble.

 

The MT has more power and is aerodynamically limited to around or just under 150.

Also, talking about street racing will get you banned. So, either specify that you're doing this at the drag strip or stop typing.

 

Strap a jet engine to it, like jay lenos bike.

for what it's worth, my 4 speed at has done over 125 before with plenty of room to go. What's so special about 170 anyway, **** man, aim for the sky if anything, go big or go home

^ or he can learn how to drive the car (rx8) to its true potential on a track, better than going 170 in a straight line, I've hit 170 in my cousins C5 vette, not much of a rush in a car that was meant to handle that speed and feel like a cadillac while doing so.

The only way you are going to hit 170 is if you click the little stub next to the speedometer. Drive it in the new and improved mode at all times. So fast & furious.
