Does the spare tire kit act like a rear strut tower?

It says you can't use it with the spare tire kit.

The spare tire mounting hardware occupies some of the same space that a tower brace would occupy. That's why you can't have both. Might provide some additional rigidity but probably not as much as a proper brace since that's not what it was designed to do.

Agreed, it's a brace but not intended for that purpose, prob helps though.

does the spare tire kit mess up the 50/50 weight distribution and if so, is it significant?

My guess would be that it probably help a little (theoretically) with the weight distribution since I remember in a review, with a Driver, the distribution is like 52/48 or something like that. So having a little more weight at the back might actually help theoretically. But in reality I really don't think it will make any difference at all.

The spare tire just gets in the way of where the strut brace would otherwise go.
