Does an original warranty transfer?

I'm getting close to getting an Rx8 as I wait for my current vehicle to sell. I found a couple in the area but I'm curious about a factory warranty.

If I find a car with under some magic number of miles does that mean that It just still has warranty?
Or do I have to do some sort of transferring?

I just want to make sure I'm in a position to get a warranty when I purchase. I'm looking to get an 05 or 06 with fairly low miles.

I searched but only came up with extended warranty questions.

Thanks

Warranty transfers with the car. Once you get your car, call the 800 Mazda number and have it transferred over to your name and contact info.

you should go to a mazda dealer and get certified used, you get remainder of warranty, then a 1 year 12000 mile power train after that.

Depends on the price. You get the remainder of the standard warranty regardless whether is it certified or not.

yea, i got a good deal, in december i got a 04 6 speed VR GT with 14000 miles on it, they wanted 23000, before we did a test drive he gave me the key to see it, while he copied my insurance and stuff, i flooded the engine real quick before the guy got back, so when he came to sit in the car, i went to start it, bam NO START.
after lonnnnnng talking i walked out with the rx8 at 19000 out the door!

you got to play the game
