Do you get depressed washing your RX8?
Mine didn't have anything in it. I thought about the general Mazda White as it seems better than nothing. How's it look?
Mazda actually sent me the touch up paint. Just got it in the mail one day. When I saw the color I took it in to the dealer, they looked it up, then called Mazda, who confirmed the what they sent me, that was clearly grey, was the right paint. The Whitewater pearl is an 8 step painting process and there is no real match for it. Or something to that effect.
The plain Mazda white looks ok. Better than the black from rock chips and better than the grey paint.
a little trick for people touching up the rock chips and the color not matching after it dries....mix some clear coat in the touch up paint, like 1:1 and it will dry shiny and match better. Better protection as well and looks a lot better when you wax over it.

yeah im like that too. I got my car buffed/waxed/detailed inside and out and once the shop missed something I'd be like this was never there! and i would get so mad when i get chips on the hood...deep chips that go right through my "clear bra". Chicago roads just suck. but yea.... +California Duster, great thing to have for a black car.=)
My friend bought his RX-8 and the next day realized that there was actually a small hole in his windshield. You could feel a little bit of a breeze through it haha.
I just stopped looking at all the nicks and chips in the paint and windshield.
Now I don't get depressed. Right after I bought it I would cuss about all the damage being done to it. Now it's like WTF. Just another chunk of paint missing.

was that right around the same time you decided to put those ugly wheels on?
as long as I don't look at the front end, I'm fine.
It is only the front bumper that has all the nicks. Charleston is full of sooo many trucks throughing up pebbles constantly.
I accepted the fact it is un-avoidable and the only way to keep it perfect would be never drive it....but what is the fun of that.

the thing that depresses me is that i have a black car and of course it's pollen season. and right after i get done drying cleanin it all nice and puttin all the time into getting it clean as hell i have a layer of yellow pollen on it. and yes of course those lil scratches on the front end sux too.
It's a car...drive it, enjoy it, by all means take good care of it...when it gets too banged up for you, pay to fix it or buy a new one but why would you get depressed about something you have no control over...maybe you should talk to a professional
btw: a related story from my lunchtime:
I had to leave my '8 out all night as yesterday’s steam cleaned rugs were drying in the garage. When I came out at 5:15 this morning it was solid greenish-yellow (pollen!). I actually hosed it down in my gym shorts in the chill 62 degf air but it didn’t fully clear.
I went to Autozone at noon since I needed a Mr Clean soap/filter refill (that filter doesn’t last anywhere near 10 uses – well, at least not My uses).
On the way back to work I decided to bite the bullet and get a wash at the place I get my Jeep washed in the Winter. It is full contact, but far better than most places. Still - I had never machine washed it before so I was uneasy.
As I pulled up the line was long. I glanced left and noticed newly installed power wash bays, so, I pulled in there instead.
Depositing two bucks in quarters for four minutes use I pulled a wand and set to soap. Then I set to rinse water and finally the wax-in-water. I was able to rotate freely around the vehicle thanks to the overhead arm, so I maximized the time.
I backed out and pulled into the vacuum area. I had my (high quality cotton) towel from this morning’s workout in the trunk so I used that to dry. Thanks to the spray on wax it sheeted quickly and dried easily.
Ten minutes start to finish and I was back on the road in a pristine vehicle. I didn’t get wet at all.
Now, it was relatively clean already except for the layer of pollen, but for $2, for "100% clean” powerwash water, how can you lose, especially when I knew I wouldn't have an opportunity to hand wash for a few days and just couldn't bear the pollen that long?
